Brad strode forward, not giving Nadine a chance to react. He yanked the man's coat off her shoulders. "What kind of clothes are you wearing? It's so ugly."
He swiftly removed the coat that belonged to another man, tossing it casually onto the ground. Without missing a beat, he took off his own coat and draped it over her shoulders.
Afraid that Nadine might reject his gesture, Brad firmly gripped her shoulder. He made sure she couldn't shrug off his coat.
"Be good. If you want to wear men's clothes next time, take mine—or I'll buy you a new one," Brad said. He couldn't stand the sight of Sebastian's coat on her.
Not only did it annoy him, but it was also in his way. If looks could kill, that coat would have been shredded into pieces long ago.
Nadine only felt warmth on her shoulder. When she came to her senses and realized how intimate Brad's actions were, she instinctively took a step back.
No. They were already divorced. A proper ex should be like a ghost, no longer appearing in the other's life. Brad's affectionate behavior didn't bring Nadine joy. Instead, it made her feel scared.
This was the Brad who had always been high and mighty, never pampering anyone. How could he be so considerate and gentle now, going as far as draping a coat over her?
Nadine knew that the last person Brad had done this for was Jean, not her.
The name, "Jean Sawyer" was like a thorn that could never be removed—one that was deeply embedded in Nadine's heart.
Nadine had been working hard to push Jean out of her life. But as long as Brad showed up, or when he did something for her that he once did for Jean, the bitter memories would inevitably flash through Nadine's mind.
When they left Janctera City, they had been in such a hurry that the two of them hadn't had anything to eat. Brad and Sean had been so focused on the journey that they had forgotten about everything else.
Hearing this, Nadine couldn't care about anything else. She hurriedly picked Sean up and said, "Mommy will take you to eat."
Brad exchanged a look with Sean and loosened his grip on Nadine's shoulders. The coat remained firmly on her shoulders.
Nadine held Sean as she walked forward. Her heart ached as she thought about him not having eaten dinner. Her pace quickened without her even noticing. Because of this, Nadine didn't realize what was happening behind her.
What she didn't know was that after she left with Sean, Brad picked up the man's coat from the ground. He smiled at Sebastian and casually tossed the coat into the trash can on the side of the road.
