Please Give Me Another Chance, Mrs. Hamilton novel Chapter 848

The first word Sean ever said was "Dada". Unfortunately, back then, Brad was too busy with work to play with him. By the time he got home every day, he was too exhausted to deal with anything else. All he wanted was some peace and quiet.

Hence, Brad barely spent any time with Sean until he was old enough to attend kindergarten. Like most children, Sean longed for his father's love and attention.

There were times when he would beg Brad to spend time with him, but Brad, not knowing how to handle a child, would usually run off and turn to Nadine for help.

Nadine assumed Brad didn't like Sean and stopped pushing. She took care of everything related to Sean and never bothered Brad. Gradually, Sean got used to having only his mom around and felt that he didn't really need his dad.

Hence, when the little one said those words, Brad's heart missed a beat. Nadine had once told him, "Even though Sean isn't your biological son, I still hope you could at least pretend to care for him. Don't be so cold to him. It'll hurt his feelings."

Back then, he had answered, "A lie is still a lie, regardless if it's out of kindness or malice. I absolutely hate lying!"

After that conversation, Nadine had left the room with tears in her eyes. From that moment on, she never bothered him again about Sean.

Even though they lived under the same roof as a family of three, they lived separate lives—like strangers sharing a house. It felt like they were divorced in spirit, though not yet on paper.

Sean reached out, took his mom's hand, and suddenly felt a lot braver. He looked at Brad and said, "I don't want to. Mommy and I are tired. I want to sleep."

He then led Nadine toward the hotel entrance. "Bye, Daddy," he called over his shoulder, not bothering to see how Brad reacted. Hand in hand, the pair walked off without a backward glance.

Sebastian didn't stop them. After watching them enter the hotel through the revolving doors, he approached Brad with a smug smile. "Mr. Hamilton, you had your chance with Nadine, and you blew it. Now it's your turn to feel what she felt."

Sebastian had done his homework. He was aware of most details regarding Brad and Nadine's history. He wasn't entirely sure why Brad had agreed to the divorce, but he was glad it happened. With Brad out of the picture, others finally had a chance to be with Nadine.
