Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 62

The three guys were fuming, faces red with embarrassment as they suddenly realized the biker in front of them was actually a woman. She watched them with a smirk, clearly entertained by how ridiculous they looked.

“You looking for trouble or something, lady?” One of them snapped.

Lydia sat up straighter, her voice icy. “Seems to me you’re throwing yourselves in front of my bike. Got any problem?”

“Get off that bike!” Neil, the one they called their leader, jabbed a finger at her, looking like he was ready to explode if she didn’t listen.

Lydia just rolled her eyes. “How about this? We race. Loser has to kneel to the winner.”

Horatio, one of Neil’s sidekicks, eyed her suspiciously. “Neil, you think she’s just trying to get away?”

The other guy, Harlow, chimed in too. “Yeah, Neil, she’s just stalling so we’ll move and let her through!”

Lydia looked at them like they were the world’s biggest joke. “Wow, three grown men scared of one girl? Or are you just too chicken to race?”

Neil was sure he could out-ride Lydia any day. Even if she tried to take off, there was no way she could beat the three of them. Her words stung, and he was done trying to play it cool.

“You really want to challenge us?”

Lydia shot back with a sly grin. “Was I not clear enough?”

Neil’s eyes drifted over her, a slow grin spreading across his face. “Alright, but let’s make it interesting.”

Lydia didn’t look the least bit worried. She lifted her chin. “What do you have in mind?”

He leaned forward, voice full of mockery. “Whoever loses has to strip down, kneel, and call the winner grandpa.”

Chris skidded to a stop right in front of them, his anger written all over his face. When he spotted Lydia, he did a double take. “Lydia?”

Even with her helmet on, just her sparkling eyes and flushed lips showing, Chris recognized her right away.

Neil looked amused. “Oh, you two know each other? Even better. Your friend can watch as you kneel and call us grandpa.”

Chris jumped off his bike, pulling off his helmet to reveal his sharp, handsome features. He glared at Neil. “Neil, you’re unbelievable! You teamed up to ram my friend’s bike. He could have died, and you don’t even care?”

Lydia glanced past him and saw another bike just behind Chris. There were two people on it, and the one sitting at the back had his arm pressed tight to his side, blood dripping from his hand.

Neil just shrugged, sneering. “He couldn’t handle it and crashed. That’s not my problem.”
