Chapter 31 - 31: Being Hit

"Qingqing, I just felt it wasn't her who did it. When she came downstairs last night carrying a bucket and was panting heavily, I thought..." Tang Yue suddenly covered her mouth, her eyes rapidly shifting, and then she said, "It's nothing, that's all in the past now, class is starting soon."

Tang Yue took her seat, looking like she had misspoken, which led to more speculation.

Panting heavily?

Going downstairs should be easy, plus their dorm is on the second floor, how could she be so tired that she was panting?

This made everyone even more suspicious of Xu Zhenzhen.

Tang Yue closed her book and walked away with big steps.

Behind her, Xu Zhenzhen's scream echoed.

Where Tang Yue had been before, behind a large tree, Zhang Minmin, Zhao Xiaoyue, and Liu Fang all stood, having heard everything that was just said.

"So it's you, Xu Zhenzhen, stealing my money and then claiming it was borrowed,"

Zhang Minmin was nearly enraged; the incident yesterday had embarrassingly stained her reputation.

"I... didn't steal it." Xu Zhenzhen argued, hoping they hadn't heard the previous conversation, and at the same time, she bitterly noted down a grudge against Tang Yue in her heart, convinced it was done on purpose.

Zhang Minmin and the others beat up Xu Zhenzhen and even dragged the matter to the head of student affairs. The head of student affairs scolded all four of them, and the girls, mimicking the boys fighting, each stuck to their own version; Zhang Minmin and others said they heard Xu Zhenzhen admitting to the theft, claiming to have borrowed the money without even asking.
