Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 722

Hugh had always been obedient to his domineering father since childhood. Hearing his father's words, he nodded silently.

The first and second wives watched indifferently from the sidelines.

After all, any humiliation suffered by the third wife only worked to their advantage. Madelyn stood nearby without a word, her heart weighed down by fear. She had been on edge all this time, terrified that Ariana might seek revenge. Yet, after waiting so long, Ariana still hadn’t made a move, leaving Madelyn puzzled.

'Could she be too busy to act?'

Given that Ariana had dared to drug her before, revenge was certainly within her capabilities. Now, hearing that Ariana was preoccupied with other matters, Madelyn felt a wave of relief—though it was quickly replaced by suspicion. 'Why did Ariana’s mother commit suicide? Could Ariana have even harmed her own mother?'

At the thought, a flicker of disgust flashed in Madelyn’s eyes.

Only Gwen frowned slightly.

But in the end, she remained silent, lips pressed tightly together. Her status in the Stone family was far too low, and this was hardly the right moment for her to speak. Worse still, if she dared to defend Ariana now, it might only provoke the old man’s displeasure.

Inside the villa.

After being ambushed by the swarm of reporters, Ariana had no choice but to abandon her plans of sending the children to kindergarten.

It didn’t take much to imagine the headlines if she showed up at Kevin and Carson’s parent-teacher meeting now. The press wouldn’t care about the truth—they’d only spin it as the Stone Group’s CEO’s wife heartlessly skipping her own mother’s hospital vigil to casually attend a school event as if nothing had happened.

That would change everything.

No matter what, the safest move now was to stay out of sight. Any action she took would only fuel more sensationalized rumors.

At the same time, Kevin and Carson couldn't go to school either. If Ariana's guess was correct, there was probably a crowd of reporters waiting at the kindergarten as well.

In the living room, Carson glanced at his mother, then at his older brother sitting quietly nearby. Unable to hold back any longer, he finally asked, "Mom, aren’t we going to school today? There’s a parent-teacher meeting!" He had already bragged to his classmates that his mom would personally attend—unlike the other kids, whose family butlers usually showed up. It wasn’t the same at all.

Ariana looked at her anxious little son, her brow furrowing slightly. "We’ll skip it for today—" Before she could finish, Carson slapped her hand away, his eyes welling up with tears. "I knew you were lying to me!" With that, he dashed upstairs.

Ariana was momentarily stunned, unsure why her youngest had reacted so strongly. But she brushed it off, chalking it up to a childish tantrum.

Either way, the parent-teacher meeting was out of the question. Reporters were still swarming outside the house. The thought of Georgia personally tipping them off made her eyes darken with suppressed anger.

Kevin stepped forward quietly. "Mom, I’ll go check on him."

Ariana patted his head. "Go ahead." She paused, then added, "Actually, I need to step out for a bit. Can you take care of your brother and sister while I’m gone?"

This was the first time Kevin had been entrusted with such responsibility—usually, it was their eldest brother’s duty. His eyes lit up, and he grinned. "Sure!"

Ariana knew exactly what Georgia was trying to do—force her hand. And she had succeeded. But Ariana refused to rush straight to the hospital and let her think she’d won. So she waited, biding her time.

Only after her father called did Ariana finally make her move.
