Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 719

Before Gilbert could say another word, Georgia abruptly hung up the phone.

Gilbert stood frozen in place for a long moment, his expression darkening. After a pause, he snatched up his car keys and stormed out.

When he arrived at the former White family residence, he found Georgia in the bedroom, her wrist slashed in an apparent suicide attempt. Of course, Georgia had no real intention of dying—she had timed it carefully to ensure Gilbert would arrive before she bled out. Still, she had lost enough blood that by the time he got there, she had already passed out.

His face pale with shock, Gilbert scooped her up without hesitation and sped to the hospital.

...

Ariana was preparing for the next day’s parent-teacher meeting when she received the news. This would be her first time attending one—she had missed the twins’ kindergarten meetings because she had been pregnant at the time, a fact that still filled her with guilt.

Now that she had promised her two little boys, she had no intention of breaking her word.

As for Sheryl…

There was no rush.

Just then, her father called. The moment she heard his words, her expression shifted.

Gilbert struggled to find the right way to explain everything to his daughter, his emotions tangled in a complicated knot. All he could do was relay Georgia’s condition. As Georgia had said—after so many years of shared history, how could he simply turn his back? The sight of her slashing her wrists in front of him had left him deeply shaken.

Ariana fell silent for a moment before responding calmly, "I'll be right there."

Gilbert exhaled in relief and nodded. "Be careful," he said, a faint trace of gratitude and guilt flickering in his chest. He was well aware of everything Georgia had done to Ariana, but no grievance outweighed a human life.

If Georgia really were to die, it would be unthinkable for Ariana not to see her one last time.

After all, she had been Ariana’s adoptive mother for over twenty years.

On the other end of the line, Ariana let out a long sigh after hanging up the phone. The corners of her lips twitched with self-mockery, but her expression remained mostly indifferent. She walked into the bedroom, where Lambert had just stepped out of the shower, and said flatly, "She attempted suicide. Dad just called." The "she" in question was, of course, Georgia.

Lambert narrowed his eyes. Like Ariana, he immediately understood the reason behind Georgia’s drastic action.

He studied her carefully. "What are you planning to do?"

Ariana shook her head. "I already told Dad I’d go over. I’ll see her first... and then decide."

Lambert’s gaze was cool. "Fine. I’ll come with you."

Ariana felt lost, her heart heavy and suffocating. At his words, she managed a faint nod and forced a weak smile. "Okay."

Fortunately, Gracie and the children were already asleep, watched over by the housekeeper, maids, and nanny, with bodyguards stationed outside. It should have been fine, but Ariana still couldn’t shake her unease. So Lambert summoned his ever-reliable—and perpetually long-suffering—assistant, Assistant Hills, to keep an eye on things.
