Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 677

The Harper Residence.

A loud bang echoed through the room as the door was shoved open. Irene frowned and looked up to see her older brother storming in, his face dark with barely contained fury.

Nathan’s expression was twisted, almost unrecognizable in his anger. He stared at Irene, visibly struggling to keep his emotions in check. Yet despite his efforts, traces of unbridled rage seeped through. His jaw clenched as he gritted out, "Irene, what the hell have you done?"

He was trying—desperately—to stay calm.

But the veins bulging at his temples betrayed the storm raging inside him.

Irene remained unfazed. "Oh, so you barged into my room just to ask that?" She arched a brow. "Big brother, do you even know what time it is?" Thank goodness she hadn’t gone to bed yet. If she’d forgotten to lock the door and he’d burst in like this—well, that would’ve been awkward.

Nathan let out a bitter, disbelieving laugh.

Unbelievable. Here he was, barely holding himself together, and she was fixated on something so trivial.

A cold smirk curled his lips.

In the past, no matter how much friction arose between them, he had always swallowed his pride. He knew his place—even as the Harper family’s heir, he was still just an adopted son. So he’d never been foolish enough to cross Irene.

But tonight was different.

This level of fury was unprecedented.

Irene sensed it too—something was off about him.

But she already knew exactly why he was so worked up, so she felt no curiosity, only mild irritation. She frowned, unimpressed. Was this really how the heir of the Harper family should act? Throwing a tantrum over something so insignificant?

With an idle flick of her bangs, she shrugged. "I know why you’re here. Relax. I’ll take full responsibility for that matter. Mom and Dad won’t blame you—happy now?"

Nathan's voice was icy. "You think this won't come back to me? Those people went through me—do you honestly believe Mom and Dad won't figure out I was your accomplice? Irene! What the hell were you thinking? Have you lost your mind? I only agreed to help because I thought you just wanted to give Ariana a little trouble to vent your anger. But what did you do? You set a fire?" God knows his face had gone pale the moment he heard the news.

He couldn’t even begin to imagine the consequences if their parents found out.

Lambert would never let this slide.

No matter how much he adored Irene, no man would stay silent after something like this happened to his unborn child. He would retaliate.

And when that happened…

As the "accomplice," Nathan would undoubtedly pay the price—maybe even take the fall for Irene entirely.

After all, she was their parents' biological daughter.

Right now, he hated her with every fiber of his being. Even if their parents scolded him or stripped him of his position, it wouldn’t be the end of the world. With some effort, he could still win back their favor. His status as the Harper family's heir wasn’t so easily shaken. But now… one wrong move, and he could be finished for good.
