"That man, although I’ve never interacted with him, I could tell at a glance that he’s no good. Very frivolous and not very stable."
Sun Chan nodded and said, "You’ve got a good eye. I’ve heard some bad things about him. He’s not a good person."
She recounted what Han Dong had said to her.
Liu Enming’s eyebrows furrowed even more, growing increasingly displeased.
"Shall we come up with a plan to expose that man’s true colors?"
Liu Enming said, "That’s easier said than done. We don’t have Wu Qiong’s trust, so even if we’re genuinely looking out for her, she’d just see us as jealous. If that guy stirs things up a bit, there’s no way we could explain ourselves."
When people are in love, they tend to be arrogant and foolish, and they absolutely refuse to accept opposing opinions.
Sun Chan nodded, acknowledging this fact. She thought for a moment and hurriedly said, "Oh, I’ve got an idea."
Liu Enming asked, "What do you plan to do?"
"Let’s go talk to her father. I think he’ll care about this matter."
Liu Enming paused, then realized this was indeed a good idea. No matter what, after we’ve spoken, Wu Qiong’s father shouldn’t be as naïve and innocent as Wu Qiong. If he’s made aware, a little precaution in advance is beneficial. If he doesn’t believe us, then there’s nothing more we can do.
The two of them didn’t return home but instead went to Wu Dafu’s factory.
Wu Dafu, upon hearing from security that Sun Chan and Liu Enming had arrived, stood up hastily. He went out to personally welcome them. One was the son of his second-in-command, and the other was a designer he fancied, so he was sure to be very welcoming.
"Welcome, it’s truly a great honor to have you both here today!" he said, touched.
Sun Chan said, "You’re too modest. Actually, we’re here today to discuss something unrelated to business."
"Oh, let’s head to my office first and talk things over."
Sun Chan agreed, glancing around. Many large trucks were coming and going; business seemed to be thriving extraordinarily well.
Wu Dafu then invited Liu Enming and Sun Chan into the office and had someone serve them hot tea.
Sun Chan and Liu Enming wasted no time, they told him the whole story.
Wu Dafu felt genuinely grateful to them; they were adversaries at present, and it’s no exaggeration to say he had put many obstacles in Han Dong’s factory’s way. If the situation were reversed, he would certainly not meddle in an enemy’s family affairs—the messier, the better.
Yet Sun Chan had come over without a hint of grudgingness. He felt deeply appreciative.
Liu Enming said, "I’m here only as Wu Qiong’s classmate, somewhat concerned about her future, please don’t overthink it."
"I understand," Wu Dafu nodded, "Thank you both for thinking of my daughter. I’ve already cut off all financial support for her. That fraudster, isn’t he trying to get my money and property? If he realizes that being with my daughter is pointless, he’ll probably straighten out, right?"
Could they really want him harmed, even wish him dead?
Wu Dafu pondered briefly and then suddenly smirked coldly, "Alright, I understand now! Thank you both for informing me, I think I know just what to do."
Sun Chan breathed a sigh of relief, "That’s good, we have other matters to attend to, so we shall take our leave."
"Let’s have a meal together."
"No, perhaps next time. We really have business to handle." Liu Enming declined.
At this point, Wu Dafu was indeed too troubled and lacked the disposition for social pleasantries. He nodded and escorted the two out.
Sun Chan noticed the factory buildings; indeed, they were much larger than Han Dong’s factory. No wonder people had their eyes on it.
"So, Miss Sun, isn’t my factory quite impressive? If you were to join, I’d have people take good care of you. You may stipulate any condition."
Sun Chan laughed, "You must be joking, my skills are truly not fit for such prestigious places, how could I come to such a great venue? I’ll just muddle through in the little shop. Besides, I’m pregnant now, can’t afford the hustle."
Wu Dafu being astute, seeing her unwillingness didn’t insist—he congratulated Sun Chan on her pregnancy and then saw the two out.
Upon leaving the factory, Sun Chan sighed, "I really dislike talking behind someone’s back like this. It feels like tattling to Wu Qiong, what if she resents us for it?"
