Liu Gang’s plan was to find this Liu Weihong and use this matter to make Gu Junming give up participating in the big drill. But he never found out, and time ran out. However, the last page made it very clear.
"I’ve already found her, and I can use this to get Gu Junming to promote me."
Liu Gang was still thinking about how to rise in rank and wealth before he died; he was truly persistent.
Gu Junming clenched his fist. Found Liu Weihong? Is my mother still alive? But afterward, there was no more writing, only a ticket.
It was a ticket to a park, dated last winter, at the Children’s Park.
Liu Gang didn’t have kids, and besides some equipment that children like, there’s nothing much attractive in the park.
The military complex here is at the south end of the city, while the Children’s Park is at the north, so probably not a place you’d visit often without a reason.
What does this mean? Could it be that Liu Weihong was seen in this park? He carefully examined the ticket again.
He noticed some faint handwriting on the ticket, likely from a pen that was running out of ink.
Tilting it, he saw the name of a shop: Xiao Hong Grocery.
Sun Chan looked at Gu Junming curiously as he inspected the ticket, "What are you doing?"
"I’m thinking maybe this is a clue left about my mother, at the Xiao Hong Grocery near the park. I must go and see." He said and was about to head out.
Sun Chan pulled him back, "You have to finish eating first."
"I’m a bit impatient." Gu Junming said excitedly.
Sun Chan laughed, "It’s right there, it won’t run away, will it? Eat properly, I’ll go with you later."
She pressed Gu Junming back into his seat, "You always tell me to eat well, but you don’t seem to be that disciplined yourself, which disappoints me."
Gu Junming laughed, "Alright, I got it. I’ll listen to you and eat well, and we’ll go to the park after dinner."
"Okay." Sun Chan and Gu Junming quickly finished their meal, then took a taxi to the park. Sun Chan said taking the bus would be fine, but Gu Junming refused.
"Think about your belly, listen to me."
"Okay, I’ll follow your lead, let’s check out the Xiao Hong Grocery, and maybe take a stroll too."
Gu Junming held Sun Chan’s hand tightly, "I’m sorry, other men can casually take their wives out to play, but I make you wait, even going out to have fun feels like a luxury."
Sun Chan laughed, "I know what you’re trying to say, I’m not upset. I think it’s good; if all dreams came true quickly, we might not feel that joy."
Gu Junming moved by it, held her hand tightly. People at the complex saw the couple again, walking affectionately and sweetly, truly an enviable sight. Zhuang Lin glanced over and pouted, jealousy was evident.
When will I ever have such a good relationship with my husband?
A military wife chuckled, "When I was young, my husband treated me this way too. Alas, now he gets annoyed just seeing me. Seeing them reminds me of us when we were young, our relationship was so good then."
Zhuang Lin pouted, thinking, I never had it as good even when I was young, humph!
Sun Chan and Gu Junming took a taxi to the park, which was quite large and had a pleasant environment, lush greenery everywhere. From the gate, you could see many people strolling, some with children playing, creating a very warm atmosphere.
Li Wanrou said, "There doesn’t seem to be a Xiao Hong Grocery here?"
