Once they entered the space, Huo Jingrui couldn’t wait to ask, "Did you know it was me from the beginning?"
Yunyi leaned into his embrace. "Not exactly. It’s just that after I learned your name, I started paying more attention. Many of your daily habits are still the same as before. Then, when I saw that Jade Pendant, I knew my guess was correct."
Huo Jingrui pulled her into his arms. "Yi’er, I’m truly thankful to Heaven for allowing me to follow you here."
Upon hearing his words, Yunyi looked up and said with a playful pout, "It wasn’t Heaven’s favor that allowed you to follow me here. The one you should be thanking is me."
Huo Jingrui hugged the delicate woman in his arms. "Yes, yes, yes. I should indeed thank our Yi’er."
Seeing he wasn’t taking her seriously, Yunyi patted his arm. "I’m serious. I’m not joking with you."
Huo Jingrui’s smile faded. He looked at her affectionately and asked, "Yi’er, can you tell *your husband* all about it?"
Hearing him call himself ’your husband,’ Yunyi deliberately said, "I’m not your wife right now. It’s too soon for you to be calling yourself that."
Huo Jingrui saw the sly glint in her eyes. He tightened his arms around her and whispered close to her ear, "If not my wife, whose wife do you intend to be, hmm?"
Yunyi giggled in his embrace. "I’m not telling you."
Huo Jingrui kissed her lips hard. "Don’t you dare joke like that again."
He then insisted Yunyi make a promise before finally letting her off the hook. "Yi’er, what did you mean by what you said earlier?"
His intuition told him Yi’er had been serious. He was sure the little minx must have paid some price for him to be able to come here, and he desperately wanted to know what it was.
Yunyi hadn’t intended to hide it from him. "I exchanged my previous portable space for a chance to continue our love in this lifetime."
His heart was a whirlwind of emotions—he was touched, yet his heart ached for her. The little minx’s space had been such a powerful asset, and now it was gone because of him. "I’m sorry you lost your space," he said, "but I’m still selfish enough to thank you for choosing me. I swear I won’t let you down."
