**The CEO Who Promised Me the World And Then Asked Me to Pay With My Soul by Caden Blake**
**An Impatient Groom**
In the backseat of the luxurious car, Alpha Henry swiftly raised the partition, effectively obstructing the driver’s view of what was about to unfold.
With a charming smile that could melt ice, he leaned closer to Aubrey and said, “Your dress isn’t tied properly? Here, let me help you!”
Aubrey shot him a skeptical glance, her eyebrows arching in disbelief. “Really?” she replied, her voice laced with suspicion.
After all, Alpha Henry had a reputation that preceded him, a long history of antics that made her wary of his intentions.
Today was particularly chaotic for her; she had woken up late, a consequence of a certain shameless man who had invaded her sanctuary in the dead of night, tossing her around with reckless abandon! The memory of his teasing touch still lingered in her mind, making her hyper-aware of his presence now.
Henry’s smile widened, a hint of mischief dancing in his eyes. “Of course. Right now, I just want to help you tie your dress!”
Aubrey hesitated but then turned around, still eyeing him with caution. “Alright then. Tie it tightly!”
“As you command!” he replied, his tone playful yet earnest. As she gracefully lifted her veil, the delicate fabric fell away to reveal her smooth shoulders and the elegant curve of her back.
Her skin glowed with a soft, ethereal light, fair and delicate, making Henry’s throat tighten with an unexpected rush of desire. The atmosphere inside the car thickened, the air suddenly feeling stifling.
Instead of immediately tying the laces, he let his fingers brush against a faint red mark on her back, a remnant of their wild night together. A secret smile crept onto his lips; she must not have even noticed it yet.
“What’s wrong?” Aubrey, noticing his momentary stillness, turned her head to look at him. Her profile was perfect, her lips slightly reddened, and Henry couldn’t help but admire how she hadn’t even bothered with powder today, opting only for her eyebrows and a touch of lipstick. Yet, she radiated an undeniable beauty.
Aubrey had transformed into something breathtaking, not just through her appearance but through the way their connection had nurtured her. She was like a rose, blooming fiercely under the sun’s gentle caress.
Suddenly, he leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a low whisper filled with longing. “Aubrey, I want you again…”
Aubrey’s heart raced; she understood perfectly well what “want” implied.
She couldn’t help but glare at him, her eyes narrowing in exasperation. “Control yourself. We’re almost at the hall…”
“No…” Alpha Henry insisted, his tone stubborn. “Let them wait! I want you right now!”
How could he be so absurd?!
