’He might be a madman but it’s not like you have ever encouraged his madness,’ the angel whispered to Ella, ’You stood your own ground in this life and you broke free from your violent tendencies of the past life.
You didn’t lash out at him or scheme against him but rather, you communicated your needs with him time and time again.’
’That doesn’t matter,’ the little devil was weirdly persistent, ’No matter how much she communicates, he is still a tyrant.’
’He might be a tyrant but didn’t he respect her wishes all this time, eventually? And he has been changing his ways for her, albeit reluctantly...’
’’Miss Yu... Miss Yu...!"
’’Ah?" The voices in her head whispered, "Are we here?"
When Ji Yan nodded, Ella alighted and the car walked off to the Eve Mansion in a daze.
Adrian looked at her retreating back, a storm stirring in his eyes.
Ji Yan’s hair bristled, "S-Second Master, Miss Yu is probably just uncomfortable after the whole exchange with Maxwell Hill."
Dark clouds formed atop Adrian’s head and the bright skies seemed to be gloomier suddenly. One couldn’t tell what he was thinking.
"No matter what, he is her ex-boyfriend. From what I know, any lady will feel a little uncomfortable after talking to her ex..."
Ji Yan trailed off when he realized that Adrian’s expression worsened.
Adrian slowly tilted his head and looked at Ji Yan, "Make him suffer," his voice was barely above a whisper but a chill crept down Ji Yan’s back.
"Y-Yes, Second Master..."
As he watched the man leave, Ji Yan felt his heart palpitating slightly.
Earlier when they spotted Ella with Max, he had seen that look on his Second Master’s face. He looked like he would annihilate the entire Hill clan and lock Ella in the Eve Mansion, never once letting her out of his sight.
Imagine his surprise when he watched his Second Master gently guiding Ella back to the car?
’No matter what, Miss Yu seems to have gotten over that guy so the situation right now shouldn’t be that bad, right...?’ Ji Yan dabbed his flower-embroidered handkerchief on his forehead before pulling out his phone to restart the torment sessions of the Hill Family.
...
As soon as Ella entered her room, she kicked off her shoes and closed the door behind her.
But before the door could close, slender fingers curled around it.
Ella was startled. She hurriedly let go of the door, "Did I hurt you?" She looked at the man who had his hand trapped in there.
"By ignoring me? Yes." The man uttered a few words but Ella’s brain stopped functioning for a while.
"I ignored you?" Ella found it laughable. This big devil retreated into his ’I am sulking, don’t approach me shell’ whenever he felt like it and he was saying she ignored him.
Adrain stepped inside the room, his brows tugging together, "Did you not?"
’She is my wife.’
’Irreplaceable and incomparable.’
Perhaps it was his tone but Ella was reminded of the words he had uttered in front of Max, sounding just as aloof.
Just thinking of it made her feel a little... cough... warm.
Ella was no doctor but even the top doctors couldn’t really help Adrian in her previous life.
If that was the case, it solely meant that Adrian hid himself too well. Keeping all his thoughts to himself, letting them pile up until it led to a violent outburst.
In her previous life, the consequences of that outburst would be him tormenting himself and locking her up.
Ella wondered if he communicated his feelings more, would mental burdens lessen a bit?
Adrian looked away from her, his eyes narrowing slightly, "Do you still wish to go to him?"
"If I do, would you still lock me up?" The words slipped out of Ella’s mouth the moment Adrian finished speaking.
And suddenly, the man looked up. His eyes were bloodthirsty. Ferocious. And his aura was like that of a beast who wanted to tear someone apart.
Ella flinched and pulled her hand away from him.
Seeing the look of terror that crossed her face, Adrian stiffened.
He unclenched his fist and reached his hand towards her.
Just as his finger was about to touch her face, she looked away.
Adrian’s fingers curled slightly. Without another word, the man got up and left.
Ella sat there on the bed, her heart slowly calming down.
No words were exchanged after she asked that question. But his silence couldn’t have been more obvious.
