Chapter 40: She would not eat random meat

Not just one, but two people who occupied the last bench. She was atleast present in the beginning of the course but these people probably never showed up.

When Ella walked over to her seat, she spotted a flash of blonde. The person next to her was holding a book and had his entire head buried in that book as if he wasn’t unwilling to waste a single second by looking away from it.

Ella cleared her throat, standing next to him.

But the person did not respond, ’’Excuse me, can you move your bag away...?"

"Scram!" The guy said coldly without looking away from the book.

Ella from before would have scramed and hated herself even for someone else’s lack of good upbringing but Ella now...? She simply didn’t care.

Under the class’s ’excited for good tea’, Ella grabbed the bag from her seat and gently placed it on the desk before she took a seat.

"How dare you!" The person snapped and put the book down.

When she saw the person’s face, Ella was stunned.

’’Get lost from here!" The person narrowed his eyes coldly when she did not budge but rather, ogled at him in a stupor.

The class erupted in wild laughter.

"This fatty will finally understand her place!"

"To think that she had the audacity to act all brave in front of him...’’

’’How dare she lust over the goddess first and now the god... hmph!"

When that part fell in Ella’s ears, she slowly recovered from her reverie.

When did she lust over their god? Just sitting next to meat didn’t mean she would eat it!

Not when she had already gotten the taste of the most expensive and exquisite steak in the world.

’’Enough, silence!"

At the Professor’s yell, the entire class quietened and the peace was restored just like that.

The person next to Ella sulked and looked away.

And after going through her initial shock, Ella also avoided him.

This guy was none other than her young brother-in-law by relation. Kade King.

In her previous life, Ella met this person when she turned 23 or even later. She no longer remembered the timelines any clearly but she was certain that it was around that period only.

It should have been common knowledge but back then, she had been the least interested in Adrian and the people around him.

All she wanted was to chase Max passionately and escape Adrian. Somewhere along the line, she forgot her dream of modelling, her desire to study, her wish to be fit again or even the urge to fix her insecurities.

So, anything else probably did not make it past the cut off.

Ella again snuck a peek at the guy sitting next to her to make sure that her eyes weren’t playing tricks.

He realized that she was answering the questions blindly. They were all short type questions, some multiple choice and very few were fill in the blanks.

Huh... Kade’s lips twitched. Woman, at least pause a bit to think so your wild guesses will have higher chances of being the correct answers!

Ella was the first person to submit the answer sheet an hour later.

Grimwood took the paper from her, adjusted his glasses, and after observing her for a while, he let her go.

After handing in the paper, Ella relaxed in her seat.

She could only count it as a stroke of luck that she had broken sleep last night. And after being thoroughly awakened by Esther, she had sat to catch up on the syllabus and study materials.

After skimming through this book and that book and getting endlessly frustrated, she had ended up going through the literature portion.

And one thing about Ella was that the subjects that she liked, she excelled at them. With little effort, she would be able to understand and analyze things.

The rest of the day was passed by rather smoothly with all professors giving this ’new creature’ in class side eyes.

Ella was thick-skinned about it.

After classes, Ella tried to look for Ruby but the girl was gone and it was hard to catch sight of her.

In her previous life, she had ruined her friendship with Ruby due to her own foolishness and Esther’s manipulation.
