Ella didn’t dare move again. And the devil beside her continued to sleep, chest rising and falling with maddening calm.
If she moved about too much and woke him up, the devil would probably get all grumpy.
So, Ella slumped on the bed again, her head landing on the pillow.
After staring at the ceiling for a while, she slowly turned her head to the side and glanced at Adrian.
Looking at his handsome face, Ella fell into a daze.
Her dreams could not possibly be true.
Adrian... would not collapse just because he heard no news of her, right?
And why would he?
In her previous life, Ella believed that Adrian probably was some creep and she happened to be the unlucky person who caught his attention.
If it was not her, it would have been some other girl who became a bird in his cage.
She never mistook Adrian’s obsession with her for affection.
She thought that he liked the chase. The more she rebelled against him in her previous life, the more he wanted to keep her.
But now, Ella suddenly was not very sure.
’’Satisfied?" A deep voice sunk into her skin.
Ella jolted.
The man’s long eyelashes fluttered as he opened his eyes.
Probably because he just woke up, his eyes were a little cloudy. With his messy hair, deep voice and his narrowed eyes, he exuded a sense of sexiness.
Ella gulped, ’’Did I wake you up?"
’’You did.’’
"_" Couldn’t he just say ’No you didn’t’ instead of putting her in a spot?
Ella smiled and grabbed his palm naturally,’’Hehe~ Baby, I didn’t do it on purpose. You won’t blame me, would you?"
Adrian paused.
And suddenly, a shadow hovered Ella, ’’You can make it up to me."
Adrian’s face was inches away from Ella’s.
Ella’s lips parted. This...
Why was Adrian so proactive in this life?
In her previous life, even though he did not let her go away from him, he at least never actively used his beauty to seduce her like this.
Excuse me, where are your morals? Your dignity?
Just because you’re hot doesn’t mean I’ll give in to you every time...
Ella’s eyes fluttered close when the man suddenly leaned closer to her.
Heat bloomed under her skin as she tilted her chin up.
Her lips parted, only to feel a sudden, fleeting chill brush the corner of her mouth.
In the next moment, it disappeared as if it was a figment of her imagination.
The weight on her body disappeared.
With mutual harm involved, this matter was never brought up again.
Until a few years later she finally had to go to King’s Main Mansion. This time, Esther convinced her to go, despite warning her to be careful.
Fueled by resentment, Ella had walked into the main mansion ready for war.
The patriarch and matriarch of the King Family were strict and dignified with everyone but they loved and pampered their grandchildren like normal grandparents.
And this love extended to their grandchildren’s partners as well. Especially Adrian.
Probably due to the complications with Adrian’s health, both Grandpa King and Grandma King adored him and by extension, they welcomed her with warmth as well.
But step by step... Ella destroyed everything till it was irreversible...
Adrian turned and froze when he saw her sitting still, pale as a ghost.
A coldness settled in the bottom of his eyes as the remnant of warmth slowly dispersed.
’’If it’s too much then forget it,’’ His voice was frosty as he spoke those words indifferently and turned to leave.
"Wait... You didn’t tell me when we were going to meet grandma,’’ Ella got up from the bed in a rush and in the process, she almost fell headfirst on the floor.
Adrian halted in his tracks and turned to her.
The girl had gotten her legs tangled in the blankets and she hopped about trying to remove it.
He tried to see her face.
"You... sure?"
Ella kicked the blanket away, "Actually, I’m not..." Her voice trailed off as she turned away.
Adrian’s face darkened.
