Regret Came Too Late (Grace and Ethan) novel Chapter 458

After following Yancey around relentlessly for five years, Grace told him it was just an act and that everything was a lie. How could he let it go just like that?

He loathed her, but the stirring in the depths of his heart couldn't deceive even himself; he loved her too.

He loved her the most.

Jodie kept chattering beside him, but Yancey, who was rubbing his wrists, wasn't paying attention.

Yancey was thinking that if Grace was left with nothing one day—her career ruined, her friends and brother gone, and that so-called mysterious boyfriend gone as well—shouldn't she come running to him?

Only by destroying everything she had would she stay by his side.

When Jodie arrived at Henderson Residence, she was prepared.

Jordan sat on the couch in the living room while the butler stood beside him. The air around them was heavy.

"Jodie, do you know why I've summoned you today?"

Jodie's eyes brightened, and she immediately fell to her knees.

"Grandpa, it's all Grace's fault. She seduced Uncle Ethan! I've been seeing her in Palm Bay a lot. Not only does she give him flowers and little gifts, but she always has this sickeningly arrogant air around her. Also, have you heard? Daphne is dead. It happened during Grace's kidnapping. I think it was Uncle Ethan who did it. It seems that Uncle Ethan likes Grace but not enough to marry her."

Jordan kept quiet. He had not been aware of the news lately and had no clue that Ethan had a hand in Daphne's matter. Taking a deep breath, he turned toward the butler beside him.

"See who the Lambert family is looking to cooperate with lately."
