Dr. Lee fumed, "...Such a sharp tongue!"
Anastasia ignored him and continued to check the elderly woman's pulse.
After a moment, she withdrew her hand.
"I might have a way, but I can't be certain. Madam, would you be willing to let me try?"
At her words, the deeply disappointed Nelson looked up abruptly, staring at her in disbelief. "Ms. Sterling, what did you say? You can treat her?!"
Anastasia answered cautiously, "I just have some ideas. I'm not entirely confident. We'll only know if it works after we try."
Dr. Lee and the others, who had been stunned when Anastasia first claimed she could treat her, couldn't help but shake their heads and scoff upon hearing her follow-up.
He addressed Nelson directly, "Mr. West, you must think this through. Your mother is elderly and in poor health. Can she really withstand this kind of reckless experimentation? Don't make a foolish decision and let someone ruin her health!"
Nelson's resolve wavered at his words.
He asked Anastasia, "How exactly do you plan to 'try,' Ms. Sterling?"
Anastasia explained, "We'll brew a remedy based on my prescription, and I'll supplement it with a specialized massage technique."
Hearing that it involved taking medicine, Nelson grew even more hesitant.
So far, Anastasia was the only person to suggest a possible solution, and he didn't want to give up that hope. Yet, he was wary of her youth and didn't fully trust her skills, afraid to risk his mother's well-being...
"I agree. Let's give it a try!" Just then, the old woman spoke up unexpectedly.
Her kind eyes rested on Anastasia. She had a good feeling about this young woman, who was about the same age as her granddaughter.
The girl's gaze was clear and steady, her demeanor calm and composed. She didn't seem like someone who acted rashly. She was willing to trust her this once.
Anastasia was a bit surprised by the matriarch's decisiveness, but with the patient's cooperation, things would be much easier.
