Chapter 66
Alejandro’s glare could’ve froren a wildfire. He started from Nivers to the bastard that was standing in front of him.
The man had a cocky smile, the kind that suggested he hadn’t been punched in a long time.
Alejandro had seen that expression before–on frauds, on parasites, and on men who mistook patience for weakness. But this one had made the fatal error of flirting with his woman.
Not his date. No, not even a fling. His woman
The man, still smirking with his champagne glass, glan
glanced between the couple and gave a lazy shrug
“We were just having a harmless conversation, no need to throw a tantrum.”
Alejandro stepped forward, the tension in the air thick enough to see anything.
Nivera stood just behind him, her arms crossed and her jaw clenched. He didn’t even have to look to feel her irritation and her discomfort. He felt it like it was his own.
“That harmless conversation included cornering her outside a bathroom and questioning her decisions. Do look like someone who tolerates that??
The man rolled his eyes, feigning boredom, “You’re being dramatic. What are you scared someone might actually break that frozen heart of yours for
once
A dangerous stillness went through Alejandro’s body. Nivora felt it ripple off him, and she cursed under her breath. This man clearly had a death wish.
Alejandro’s lips curled slowly–not into a smile, but into something far more terrifying.
“Unless you want me to rip your tongue out,” Alejandro said, his voice like a knife wrapped in velvet, “you should stop talking”
“Alright, alright,” the man said, lifting his hands. “Clearly you’ve g
Ive got some unresolved anger. Maybe work that out in therapy?”
He turned to Nivera with a crooked grin. “Good luck, darling, you’re going to need it to deal with him.”
Nivera had had enough, “Leave,” she said, voice clipped. “Before you end up having to explain a black eye to your date. Because if it comes to a fight, I wouldn’t het against him to kick your ass…
The guy’s smirk faded a little. His gaze darted to Alejandro, whose posture hadn’t changed but radiated lethal promise.
After a beat, he took the hint and turned, disappearing into the crowd.
Nivera exhaled sharply. However, she didn’t even get the chance to turn before Alejandro grabbed her hand–gently, but firmly–and pulled her down a hall, away from the main room,
“Alejandro-“she started, but he wasn’t listening. His eyes searched for something until he found an unmarked door. He pushed it open, dragged her inside, and shut it behind them.
The light flicked on with a soft click, revealing a quiet storage–like room with elegant decor and a
da single velvet chaise in the corner.
Before she could say anything, Alejandro pinned her against the wall. His hands braced on either side of her head, trapping her
“Did you forget who I am?” he asked, his voice low. Dangerous. “Or do you want blood on your hands tonight?”
Nivera blinked at him. “What are you actually blaming me?”
“Because if you keep walking into situations like that, I’m going to end up killing someone, and that blood’s going to be on your hands.”

He knew someone would try something, which was why, barely a minute after Niverse, he stood up and followed her.
However, the anger that coursed through his veins when he saw the potion the and that bastard were in was much more than he had en
Nivera’s face twisted as she plated at Alejandro. “Are you serious tight now!
“I told you not to let anyone get too close.”
“I didn’t let him,” she snapped, “I was literally on my way to the restroom when he ambushed me. You think I wanted that?”
He was breathing harder now, thest rising and falling slowly, like he was trying to rein himself in
“Thandled it“.
“Didn’t look like it,” Alejandro retorted.
She crossed her arms. I told him off. And guess what? I was about to knee him in the balls when you showed up and dragged me away ke some raging
Alejandro said nothing for a moment, then he leaned in, his face close enough that she could feel the heat of him, which settled into the pit of her stomach
“Fine” he muttered. “Then I’ll go after him now,
Nivera arched a brow. “As long as you don’t kill him, I honestly don’t care. He’s not worth getting blood on your hands.”
His eyes lit up. A slow, dangerous prin spread across his face. “Hearing that from you… does something to me.”
She rolled her eyes. “Don’t let it go to your head. Now, please, back off.”
But instead of moving away, Alejandro tilted his head and leaned in just slightly. “Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight?”
Nivera’s eyes narrowed. “Now you say it,” she muttered under her breath.
Unfortunately for her, the room was small, and he heard her. His eyes lit up with amusement. “Is that why you were upset earlier?”
“No.”
she said quickly.
“We both know you’re lying,” he chuckled.
“And we both know you’re delusional.”
“Am I?” he murmured. “You know… a lot of men have been staring at you tonight”
