Claudia chuckled softly. “Boyfriend, fiancé… either one works. If it’s you, Sterling, you can be both.”
They exchanged a smile, fingers brushing close, the moment thick with warmth like melted
sugar.
Sterling remained kneeling, still grinning as he gently slid the ring onto her finger.
Claudia examined it carefully. The craftsmanship, the size … everything fit flawlessly.
It was obvious he had been preparing this for quite some time.
She laced her ringed fingers through his and leaned down to kiss the man gazing up at her.
“Sterling, if you want both titles, then stand up and hug me.”
He rose,
lifted her off the ground, and spun her around, both of them laughing freely.
In that instant, they let go of every resentment, every scheme, every weight they’d been carrying. Their hearts felt unburdened.
At that moment, there was only the two of them wrapped in each other’s arms, and the rest of the world fading to nothing.
It should’ve been purely joyful, yet the emotion of it all made onlookers tear up.
A few sentimental girls couldn’t hold back their sobs again.
Others were frozen by the sight of Sterling kneeling before a woman.
Yes, it was a proposal, but the way he gazed up was so genuine and open. He was worlds apart from the untouchable man people thought they knew.
Everyone had heard tales of the golden boy who adored his girlfriend, but seeing it firsthand was something else entirely. The rumors weren’t exaggerated.
And that invisible thread between them made it clear how deeply they cared for each other.
The earlier confession had been a game, a show.
But this was real. This was what true happiness looked like between two people who meant everything to each other.
That brief, tender kiss felt more heartfelt than any passionate display before.

Under the glittering stars, surrounded by mountains, the band eased into a soft violin melody. The crowd, still dazed by the heartfelt scene, couldn’t take their eyes off the stunning couple.
Amelia, who had been on edge throughout, finally exhaled in relief and gave her crew a proud thumbs–up.
“Flawless.”
Meanwhile, hidden in the shadows, Jasper was pinned down, a cloth stuffed in his mouth, thrashing helplessly as the proposal unfolded before him. His eyes burned with anguish.
He saw it clearly now; she was gone for good.
Her heart belonged entirely to that man.
They were truly in love.
Clint lifted his boot off Jasper’s back, and smirked with mockery. “Face it, Mr. Fenton. Regret’s useless. If you let her slip away, don’t hate the guy who treats her like gold.
“With your name and talents, you could’ve dominated the Fenton family’s power struggle. But no! You had to self–destruct and disgust everyone.”
You had everything, and you threw it all away.
He scraped the bottom of his shoe as though wiping off filth, then motioned to his men. “Get him out of here. Make sure our Mr. Fenton gets the deluxe service.”
No one even realized the man from the earlier confession had vanished.
Those unfamiliar with Sterling quickly learned from their peers who he was, leaving them speechless.
When Maverick had accused Claudia of chasing wealthy older men, people hadn’t taken it seriously, though curiosity lingered about the hotel’s previous owner.
No one expected the truth to hit this hard or this fast.
Sterling wasn’t merely impressive; he was exceptional, the pinnacle of success and charm.
