Everyone on this yacht was either rich or powerful.

If any kidnappers had planned this right, grabbing just one or two people would have been enough to demand a huge ransom.
Too bad they picked the wrong targets. Running into Claudia and Sterling was the worst luck imaginable.
Not only did they expose themselves, but they also lost half their men.
Mandy was furious, practically steaming. She knew the organizers were unreliable, but this level of disaster was unbelievable.
If she had not prepared in advance and doubled the security, even more people would have been snatched during that blackout earlier.
“Stay alert. I’ll go check things out,” Mandy said.
Just as she was about to leave, Sterling, who had been looking toward the starry horizon, spoke
“The ship’s off course.”
Mandy froze, feeling another wave of dread hit her.
Even the captain was compromised?
Who were these people, really?
Claudia grabbed Mandy’s trembling hand. “Breathe. You can’t panic.”
Then she looked at the guards behind her. “After Sterling took out those men, the rest scattered. The ballroom’s actually the safest place right now, so don’t let anyone wander off alone, or it’ll be harder to find them later.”
Mandy took a deep breath and called Gabriel, who was still cluelessly enjoying himself. “I don’t care what you have to do, keep everyone inside the ballroom. No one leaves. And don’t cause panic.
“I’m heading to the control room,” she added, hesitating as her eyes turned to Sterling.
“The people operating the ship might all be down. Even if there’s someone capable among the rich kids, their nerves won’t hold.”

Claudia smiled and slipped her hand into Sterling’s. “We’ll go.”

Since someone dared to mess with them, Sterling would not rest until those people were dealt with.
Helping Mandy stabilize the situation first was no problem..
Sterling did not object.
With both of them stepping in, Mandy’s burden eased a bit.
Still, remembering how much Sterling cared for Claudia, she asked, “Do you want her to go back to the ballroom? It’s the safest place right now.”
Sterling answered before Claudia could, “She stays with me.”
He would not trust anyone else with her ever.
Claudia nodded in agreement.
Mandy chuckled softly. “Alright, my bad for worrying too much.”
Then she hurried off with her team.
Sterling reached out and ruffled Claudia’s hair. “Scared?”
Claudia tilted her head playfully. “Captain Sterling, shall we set sail?”
After all, they had role–played just about everything tonight.
Sterling pinched her cheek and smiled. “Crewmate Claudia, let’s go hunt some rats.”
Bang!
The door to the stairwell was kicked open.
Claudia poked her head in, eyes sparkling. “Wow, there’s one here too.”
The kidnapper crouched in the corner, trembling uncontrollably.
Damn it, his boss never said there would be two monsters on board! They were supposed to be the ones terrifying rich brats, not the other way around.
After what had just happened to his fellow men at the hands of this couple, he honestly just wanted to die quickly.

One clean stab would be better than being used as a live demo for disarming techniques.
But it was too late.
The man who looked like he had stepped straight out of a shadowed abyss walked down the corridor with long, unhurried strides. His lips curled slightly as he gazed at the girl playfully chasing the “rat” ahead of him.
He turned his eyes on the trembling kidnapper. “Remember what I just taught you?”
Claudia nodded seriously. “Yup. First disarm the hands, and then the legs, just in case the target wakes up and tries to fight back.”
