When Natalie met his gaze, he tilted his chin toward the consultation desk across from them. She followed the direction he indicated, and the moment she spotted that familiar figure, her brows instinctively drew together. Victoria was here.
“Ms. Foster, good morning!”
Natalie hurried over. “What are you doing here?”
“I heard you weren’t feeling well yesterday. I happened to be passing by, so I thought I’d drop in and check on you.”
Victoria’s eyes swept over her again and again, as though searching for something. At last, her gaze fixed on Natalie’s neck.
Before Natalie could respond, shock spread across the woman’s face. “Ms. Foster… what’s that on your neck?”
Natalie froze.
She had been in such a rush this morning, she hadn’t checked herself in the mirror. Though she and Marcus hadn’t gone all the way last night, things between them had gotten… heated.
Marks were inevitable.
“Ms. Foster, you’d better go take a look!”
Victoria gestured toward the restroom.

Natalie rose at once and strode quickly in that direction. She didn’t even close the door before she leaned over the sink and faced the mirror.
The sight of the hickeys on her neck left her stunned.
Since this morning, she had only seen three people.
James had obviously been aware of last night’s situation already; even if he noticed the marks, he probably wouldn’t be surprised. And when she’d looked at Atlas earlier, it had been from an angle; he hadn’t seen her head–on, so he likely hadn’t noticed either.
These marks could only be seen clearly when someone was directly in front of her,
Just then, a figure appeared in the mirror–Victoria–who promptly shut the restroom door

behind her.
Natalie’s expression darkened instantly.
For a split second, she even wondered if Victoria had drugged her.

“Ms. Foster, how did you get those marks? Don’t tell me you hooked up with some man at the banquet last night. No wonder when Jackson and I knocked on your door, it was locked…”
Natalie snapped her head around, eyes blazing. “Don’t you dare talk nonsense!”
Victoria circled to her side and, with delicate fingers, brushed back the strands of hair at her neck, staring intently at the marks.
Her voice turned icy. “Then tell me, what exactly happened? Jackson was with me the whole evening, and after the banquet he went straight home. So these hickeys definitely didn’t come from him…”
Natalie’s hands curled tightly into fists at her sides.
Her face chilled, her entire body radiating menace. “Yesterday… was that your doing?”
She spun around to confront the woman directly.
A flicker of unease flashed across Victoria’s face.
Though she quickly smoothed her expression, Natalie caught it—and that alone was enough to harden her suspicion. Whatever had happened last night, Victoria was involved.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Someone slipped something into my drink. Right after I finished it, I started feeling unwell. If it wasn’t you, then it was Zoey. But considering you showed up here first thing in the morning,
say the odds lean heavily toward you.” Anger burned in Natalie’s eyes.

Victoria’s brows drew tight. “I didn’t do anything like that. Don’t slander me. I told you, I was just passing by and decided to check on you out of kindness.”
Natalie let out a cold laugh. “From what I know of you, Ms. Victoria, it’s a miracle if you’re not scheming against me. And now you expect me to believe you came here out of goodwill?”
The fury in her gaze only deepened.
“You keep insisting it was me–then show me proof. Without evidence, you’re just throwing around accusations. Be careful, or I’ll sue you for defamation!”

Natalie’s eyes narrowed, her tone cutting like glass. “I’ll get to the bottom of this. And if I find out it was you pulling strings behind my back–do you really think I’ll swallow it quietly like I did three years ago?”
The corner of her eyes glinted red with anger.
Victoria, however, spoke slowly, deliberately. “Ms. Foster, what I’m more curious about is… who was the man you slept with last night?”
When Natalie lifted her gaze, she found that mocking, half–smiling look staring back at her from Victoria’s eyes.
