Chapter 117 You’re Totally Blushing, Girl
Natalie froze for a moment, surprised that even Lucy had noticed something.
Her lashes trembled slightly. “Of course not. You’re overthinking it.”

“Oh, please! That was a Porsche! Sure, maybe not the newest model, but it’s still worth hundreds of thousands, maybe close to a million. You really think he’d give you a car like that if he didn’t have other intentions?”
Natalie swallowed hard without realizing it.
The car was indeed expensive. By her own standards, she would’ve only considered something modest, maybe a car in the hundred to two–hundred–thousand range, just enough to get around.
But Marcus had sent her something that extravagant; she couldn’t bring herself to accept it.
She waved her hand lightly. “Forget it. Just ignore him for now.”
“You’re blushing.” Lucy leaned in, peering at her curiously. “Wait, you are blushing, aren’t you?”
“No.”
Natalie turned her back at once, but the heat burning in her face was impossible to hide. If Lucy knew how close Marcus and I had already gotten, she would surely be shocked.
“He hasn’t even started courting you and he’s already sending you cars. Compared to Jackson, Marcus is way more generous. You were with Jackson for years–did he ever give you anything worth even half that?” Lucy shook her head. “See? No comparison, no hurt feelings.”
At the mention of Jackson, Natalie’s expression darkened.
Forget hundreds of thousands; Jackson had never even bought her a car at all.
Before he went to prison, the car she drove had been one of the leftover vehicles from the Collins family estate.
“They’re both Collins men–so why’s the difference so drastic?”
Lucy’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts.
“Just pretend you don’t know about this. If Jackson ever finds out his uncle gave me such an

expensive car, he’ll lose it.” Natalie’s lips curved into a mocking smile. “Actually, he might do more than lose it. Even if I accepted the car, he’d probably force me to give it back.”
“That ex of yours–stingy is one thing, but he won’t even let someone else spoil you?”
A bitter smile spread across Lucy’s face.
The smirk at the corner of Natalie’s mouth deepened.
She didn’t say more and headed into the kitchen.
Natalie had assumed that once Marcus heard from the dealership that she refused the car, he’d at least text or call her.
But that night passed in complete silence.
By the next day, she had nearly forgotten the matter–until Marcus himself pulled up in front of her clinic in the Porsche.
Natalie and Atlas had just walked an elderly patient out the front door when the sleek car stopped right at the entrance.
When Marcus stepped out from behind the wheel, Natalie stiffened on instinct.
“Natalie, doesn’t Mr. Collins usually drive a Maybach? Why’s he suddenly switching cars?”
Atlas frowned, puzzled, looking between her and Marcus.
Natalie swallowed again but didn’t answer.
“Come inside. We need to talk.”
Marcus shot her a look, then walked straight past the two of them.
Atlas, catching sight of his dark expression, asked curiously, “Why does he look so upset?”
“Atlas, watch the front for me. I’ll be back in a minute.”
She didn’t explain further, deftly changing the subject.
Atlas nodded automatically. “Alright, go
ahead.”
Natalie saw Marcus head straight into the lounge. She filled a cup at the water cooler, then followed him inside.

He was already seated, tossing the Porsche keys onto the table as if they were nothing.
Natalie set the water in front of him. “I don’t have tea or coffee here–just warm water.”
But as she put the cup down, he suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist.
The unexpected move sent a sharp tremor through her chest.
When he stayed silent, Natalie asked cautiously, “Mr. Collins, what are you doing?”
“Why did you send the car back?”
Leaning back against the chair, Marcus let go of her hand and lifted his gaze to her.
Natalie sat down beside him, her tone light but steady. “Mr. Collins, that car costs too much. Given what we are to each other, it isn’t right for me to accept it.”
“Isn’t this something you need?”
His voice was cool, his expression unreadable. But when Natalie looked up, she caught a faint trace of red at the corner of his eyes.
“I do need a car, yes. But I want to buy one myself–not take it as a gift from you.”
