Chapter 103

Akcee was sitting up in bed, hacked into her father’s home security system as she watched an entire army of men dressed completely in black take over the mansion.

Susana and Amal were on either side of her.

Susana pointed to the screen, “ooh, there’s Dad. He’s very cool when he’s being the tough consigliere to Uncle Natale.”

Alcee giggled, “you know who else looks tough? That guy right there.” She tapped her screen where Jesus stood next to Cicciu with his hands behind his back, a weapon clenched in his fist. “He and Cicciu are the same height Susana and it’s clear many of the men in the room fear him.”

“Yup and Brunella does not seem to be a woman who is not satisfied.” Amal ducked away from Susana’s slap behind Alore.

“Torq told me they were watching us on the monitors while they were waiting for Cicciu to finish up with Brunella.” Alcee giggled, the alcohol still very much in her system but not nearly as drunk as she’d been when he’d put her to bed. “I guess she made a point to stop and tell him she was going to take a bubble bath and enjoy a glass of wine before going to bed. Torq said Cicciu lasted all of fifteen minutes before he said a woman shouldn’t drink wine alone in the bath lest she drown. He was gone a full hour. They entertained themselves watching us dance.”

“Tank told Lorita he wanted his own private performance of WAP when this mission tonight was over.” Susana snickered.

“She was booking a spa appointment to get waxed for it,” Amal laughed loudly.

Alcee was staring at the monitor and then commented, “is it just me or does my father look too calm?”

“He looks incredibly calm.” Amal agreed. “I wonder what he thinks is going to happen?”

“He’s thinking Merc, and the boys are going to show up and save his ass. Merc already told me in a text message Dad wasn’t going to live until the dam and he hoped I understood. I sent him laughing emojis in response. I don’t know if it was an appropriate response but it’s all I have. The man ordered the murder of my son, his grandson. I hope whatever they do to him tonight is painful.”

“Turn the audio up so we can hear better.”

Alcer did as Susana commanded and then smiled when she heard Torq’s voice.

“Aw, look at her smile. She likes him.”

They cackled at her comment.

Torq’s voice picked up again, “Corrado, you’re a fool. A very old fool. What you haven’t realized yet is all of Zanelli’s family now, those I let live in the past, are gone. Molinaro is wiped out completely. Molinaro was worried about his wife, but he shouldn’t have been. She is waiting for him at the gates of hell I’m sure.”

“When they went to get the bag from the office and to meet the soldier, apparently she tried to shoot one of Torq’s guys. He ordered them to finish the job. She raised sons who were disrespectful assholes. She deserved it.”

“Fair,” Susana agreed solemnly.

“Shh,” Alcee covered both of their mouths so she could hear what was coming from her computer’s audio.

Corrado eyed Torg seriously, “this family was supposed to be mine.”

“This family was always meant to be mine and you know it. Your own father told you on his deathbed you were unfit. You made a comment earlier about me being too sentimental and caring of my family, but it is exactly this which makes me the better choice to run this family. I give a fuck about them. I will die for my family. You would sacrifice them all simply so you could be richer. This ends now.”

“You think you’re so fucking tough but you’re a fool.” Edgardo interrupted. “You came to my house.”

“Shut up Edgardo.” Torq cut him off. “I don’t think you realize it yet, but your entire house is full of my men. Your wife has left. Your sons weren’t even going to come. My team connected with Mercurio and asked him outright if he wanted to be here to say his goodbyes and he declined getting in our crosshairs. It’s good to know the brains of your father and grandfather weren’t completely lost and were passed along to

your son.”

“My team.”

“You don’t have a team,” Torq laughed. “Every man who was here earlier either fled for their life or died. I gave Mercurio a heads up today. It is highly likely he let the ones who will remain loyal to him know not to show up for duty tonight.”

“Impossible.”

“It’s not impossible.” Mercurio’s voice called from the doorway. “It is entire factual.”

“Oh snap!” Susana giggled as she pointed at the screen. “Look at your father’s face. He might simply die of a stroke.”
