Sold To the Grizzly Don (Alcee and Bruno) novel Chapter 87

Chapter 87

So Torq’s grandmother’s ring isn’t your grandmother’s ring.Susana asked Lorita.

Nope. Itis paternal grandmother and mine are different. Both were lovely women but very

ry different.

The four women were sitting in the living area after an early dinner. Antero was exhausted and in bed already and the men were all in Torq’s office. Brunella excused herself earlier to take a nice hot bubble bath and to drink a glass of wine before going to bed.

You’re nothing like him at all, are you,Amal commented seriously.

You mean in size or personality?Lorita asked with a twinkle in her eye.

Both.Amal responded. He’s big, cold and scary as fuck. You’re tiny, warm and we aren’t afraid of you at all.

Are you afraid of Torq?Alcee asked Amal seriously.

Aren’t you?Amal answered her question with a question.

No. Not even an ounce.

Really?Susana seemed dumbfounded.

Why would I be?

Let’s just start with the fact he’s literally called The Grizzly. Do you remember when we were in college, Alcee and we found out your fiancé’s nickname was the Grizzly, and we looked up grizzly bears online and how big they are? He’s way bigger. Those things run just over six feet in length. He’s nearly seven feet tall.

Six feet seven inches.Lorita snickered.

Yes but we also learned they can weigh between three and eight hundred pounds. He’s nowhere close to weighing so much.

He’s easily twoforty,Lorita gave a shrug. He’s very broad across the shoulders. I ber if you put three normal sized men side by side in front of him, he’s still wider. Though, don’t use the men he employs because pretty certain they’re all part of a government experiment gone wrong.

Her words made the other women laugh loudly.

Does he just pick you up and use you like a ragdoll?Amal asked with a glint in her eyes.

Do not answer this question with me in the room. I do not want to know anything about my brother’s sex life. Ever.Lorita made a show of gagging hard.

Can we go back to you being scared of Torq?Alcee eyed Susana and Amal seriously. You’re truly afraid of him?

Terrified. Look we put on a good show because we know how to fake it being the perfect principessas that we are but the day we met with him and your father and Mercurio, it was scary as shit.

Why? Aside from his size, why?Alcee was genuinely curious what they saw in him which scared them.

Let’s start with his resting bitch face. It’s impressive. He probably looks sideways at grown made men and they piss themselves and cry.

Fact,Lorita nodded. I’ve heard more than once those three sitting at my mother’s table with Cleciu laughing at some poor asshole who was on the receiving end of Torg’s gaze. There was even someone who fainted three times on three different occasions. Torq would apparently bark out his name and he’d drop, she lifted her arm up and let his fall, like one of those fainting goats?

Fainting goats?

You’ve never seen a fainting goal? Lorita asked. They are adorable. A friend of mine back home has them. Useless of course, more pet than anything but cute.

Alcer sipped the glass of wine with a shake of her head as Lorita was frantically looking up videos of goats to share with the girls.

Chapter 87

You’re like a bunch of squirrels on crack. Can we please get back to the topic at hand?

Oh, right, scary Torq.Susana answered. His mean boss face. His size. His reputation. When we went home the other day and sat with Dad and Uncle Orazio, they were telling us some of the stories they’ve heard over the years. Apparently Tong likes blood splatter and lots of it. The more blood, the happier he is. They said rumor has it, his kit includes a scythe.

A scythe?Alcee tried to downplay her question as she considered the way Torq came in covered head to toe in blood in the early hours of the morning. Was he swinging a scythe? Was it why his tailored shirt didn’t move right with him when he was causing destruction?
