She's back (Morgan and Dante) novel Chapter 9

9

Morgan's POV

I instantly got up, the pain driving me insane. She had poured hot tea on my boobs.

"What is wrong with you?!" Thelma shrieked running over to me with a little towel in her hands.

Control yourself, control yourself Morgan. I took in a deep breath, the pain eating at my chest.

"Here." She said, handing me the towel.

"Thank you." I took the towel from her and wiped the remnant of the liquid off my chest but it was too late for the dress, it had already been ruined.

"Thank you so much Nova Bloom." Mia said. "For ruining my party. But also know that this would be the last party of mine, that you get to attend."

I dropped the towel on the table, picked up my bag, turned and left the party.

Holding everything in, I carefully drove home, like a good citizen would, reminding myself of the warning I had received the last time I had over sped, till I got home.

I got in the bath, my chest red due to the hot tea. I couldn't cry, or rather, I shouldn't cry. First, at the fundraiser, now at the tea party? Her and Dante, getting married? Wow!

I heard the sound of water drop into the bath I was in, and realized that it was a tear. "What is wrong with me?" I asked the bathroom, the pain on my boobs, stinging. "Nothing." I replied after a few seconds. What I needed was distractions, and that was what I was going to get.

I got out of the tub, got dressed and went to find Mr Vontrap. As always, he was in the study with my father.

"May I come in?" I asked after the second knock, walking in before I got a yes.

"Hello dad, hello Mr Vontrap." I said closing the door behind me.

"You don't even wait for a yes do you?"

"Yes and no." I said giggling.

"So?" My dad asked.

"Chill old man, I'm not here for you." I said to him rolling my eyes. "I'm here for Mr Vontrap."

"Me?"

"Yes, you." I replied. "I wanted to get somethings from the mall and was thinking." I started. Mr Vontrap nodded. "Instead of you, maybe I could pick the kids up from school today." I concluded.

"Oh." My father exclaimed.

"And I'll take that as a yes."

"I thought you weren't talking to me."

"Does it matter?" I smiled, jumping my way out of the office before any of them could stop me.
