"OMG! Who is that?"
"Why do those two people look familiar?"
"If I am not mistaken, those two are from the capital city. They are very popular!"
"Then what about that in champagne?"
"She looks a bit familiar, but I just can’t find out who she is!"
The guests started commenting again, their focus on the six ladies who had just walked in, dressed to the nines and looking beautiful in their own ways.
At that moment, Regina, who was chatting with the mayor’s wife, also looked to the back, wondering who would dare try to snatch all the attention from her. But when she spotted that familiar young face, she was at a loss for words.
"Lady Willian, isn’t that this year’s VERTAH flora-themed gowns," the mayor’s wife suddenly asked excitedly as she pointed towards Diamond who and just made her appearance and was busy whispering something to Agatha.
When Regina heard that, she couldn’t help but look at the champagne gown that Diamond was wearing. When her eyes landed on the rose bow-tie on the one-off shoulder, her eyes lit up. How could she not know the flora-themed gowns?
They were released at a closed fashion show and there were ten of them. Each gown was so pricey and cost around A$50 million, which was simply too ridiculous for a dress. However, considering the centuries-old brand VERTAH, where each piece of clothing was known to be sewn meticulously with the best material and real gems. Regina understood and accepted why it was like that.
It wasn’t surprising for a rich person like Diamond to own such a piece as well. However, she couldn’t help but compare and comparisons were deadly. Thankfully, she was good at managing her expressions. Otherwise, she might have lost face.
"That’s indeed the gown. I can’t believe that I am seeing it here!"
"Hehe, who is she, by the way? I have never seen her before!" the mayor’s wife asked curiously, and her question made others who couldn’t pinpoint who Diamond was curious as well.
Regina smiled at the mayor’s wife and answered politely, "She is a famous influencer and business lady from Frin City. A rare gem that continues to shine daily. She goes by the name Diamond," before excusing herself to welcome the six guests.
It wasn’t just about Diamond, but Samantha and Helena were people that she respected. Although they weren’t as rich as her, Regina respected talent when she came across such.

Diamond smiled beautifully as she felt boasted by all the whispers she was eavesdropping on while looking at the woman who was swaying coming over to meet or welcome them.
"That’s the host, lady Williams," Samantha said to Diamond, worried that the other might not know.
Diamond nodded her head as she said, "Um, I know her."
"That’s good. Don’t be tense. She is quite a good woman."
Diamond chuckled as she looked at the ladies. She was wondering inwardly if they were somewhat fooled.
If she wasn’t mistaken, the OASIS club was a club harboring crouching tigers and hidden dragons. No one in that club was naïve or perhaps good.
A lot of wealth comes with a lot of responsibilities as well as burdens. It wasn’t all about protecting the money, the empire, but there was the family as well. There were quite a lot of bad deeds people like them were willing to do to protect their interests.
However, a cover wouldn’t hurt as that would make other people’s interest in you wane a bit. So, she didn’t bother to share her opinions with the ladies but agreed with them. After all, what did her covers have to do with her?
It didn’t take long before the two sides met, and Diamond was busy observing Regina earnestly.
Regina was wearing a black and white gown, and natural pearls hung around her neck and wrist. She carried an aura of elegance, but there was also a suffocating aura that followed her. That made her certain that Regina wasn’t as easy as she portrayed herself to be.
It seemed that there were a lot of snakes around, and the dinner was going to be a fun event to be at.
"Welcome to my dinner event, ladies!" Regina welcomed warmly as she stretched her hand to Helena first.
"Thank you for having us again," Helena politely responded as she shook hands with Regina.
Unfortunately, she was just a guest. So, she could only force herself and enjoy the process.
Regina Williams took the stand, and everyone gave her a loud applause. Diamond was envious when she saw that. Regina was indeed very popular and popular amongst the real socialites. Unlike her, who was popular with fans, Regina was the big deal.
Seeing how much these people like Regina, Diamond was suddenly motivated to mingle with the rich circle and make her name resound all over.
And that could be achieved by making a move today. Who knows, she might gain something great.
"Thank you, everyone, for coming to attend the dinner despite your heavy workload and tight schedules. It is truly my honor to have you all here tonight," Regina smilingly said, as she looked at everyone kindly and gratefully.
"Tonight, there won’t be much, but just sharing a meal and getting to know each other while we prepare for tomorrow’s auction.
Those who haven’t submitted any items for the auction, please do so after the dinner. We can still register your items. If you don’t have one, then it’s still fine. What matters is attending to the greater cause.
Anyway, I won’t take much of your time. Please enjoy and have fun."
Thankfully, Regina didn’t like the sound of her voice very much and made the address very short and precise, which earned her brownie points from Diamond.
After the speech, the buffet was brought in and it was time to mingle and dine.
Diamond wasn’t expecting that the formal dinner would be like that, but she loved it so much. If it’s a dinner event, then people should just eat. Why bother adding more activities?
"Do you want to go and take your food?" one of the brothers asked as he looked at Diamond.
Diamond didn’t refuse, but agreed. She was hungry and wanted to pad her belly with some warm food. She was curious about how tasty the food cooked was. She just hoped that it wouldn’t make her regret.
Diamond’s group joined in on the food fun alongside others and while they stood in the queue, Diamond found herself engaging with a lot of strangers who were very curious about her.
