Sorry for Your Loss, It's Me, I'm the Loss novel Chapter 425

He was filled with a rage he couldn't unleash on Yvonne—she was Bennett's woman, and the James family couldn't afford to harm a single hair on her head.

But Teresa, in her foolishness, had walked right into the line of fire.

The heavy glass tumbler struck her squarely on the shoulder, splashing water all over her.

Teresa clutched her shoulder, her eyes filled with wounded disbelief as she looked at Mr. James Sr. “Dad, what did I do wrong this time?”

“When have you ever done anything right!” Mr. James Sr. retorted, coughing between words.

“While your mother was alive, she personally arranged your marriage into the Reed family. But you had rocks in your head and insisted on marrying that social climber, George. Now that George is in prison, the James family is being laughed at because of you.”

He then pointed a finger at Yvonne. “You don't even care for the daughter you carried for nine months, but you dote on your husband's child with another woman. What is wrong with you?”

If it weren't for Teresa's incompetence, which had driven a wedge between her and her own daughter, the James family wouldn't be in such a passive position now.

The room was so chaotic that when Yvonne’s phone rang, it hardly seemed out of place.

She answered it and heard Bennett’s voice on the other end.

“I’m waiting for you at the hospital entrance.”

“Okay, be right there.” Yvonne hung up and cut through the argument. “I have a date, so I’ll be leaving now.”

After saying this, she glanced at Mr. James Sr.

She felt a slight pang of guilt for having angered the old man so much.

But she had no choice. The James family was always trying to plot against her.
