Sorry, I'm the Final Boss Now novel Chapter 109

Sunlight slipped through a gap in the curtains, casting a warm glow on the pale green bedding. A girl’s slender, alabaster arm was stretched out, a picture of delicate beauty. The entire scene was like a rich, vibrant oil painting.

Buzz. Buzz.

A phone vibrated twice.

Marguerite’s eyes fluttered open. She reached out and felt for the cool metal of her phone. It was a message from the Northpine Wraith.

[Maggie, I’m on the plane.]

[Landing around 11. See you at the hospital.]

She tossed the phone aside, ready to go back to sleep, when a sudden memory jolted her upright. She scrambled out of bed and rushed to the bathroom for a shower. She remembered now. That cheeky girl—her—had spent the entire night having those kinds of dreams. And the object of her dreams had been George.

As the warm water cascaded over her, Marguerite gave herself a light slap on the cheek. “He’s the noble, saintly ‘Ice Prince.’ How could I have such lewd thoughts about him? It’s just wrong!”

Of course, Marguerite’s mother had educated her about sex from a young age to ensure she could protect herself. Now that she was an adult, she wasn’t ashamed of such things, but the subject of her dream was… problematic. Especially since he clearly had no interest in her that way.

Marguerite nodded, offering a casual excuse. “Yeah, I felt a little warm when I woke up.”

Nancy’s gossip-loving heart fluttered. She kept her eyes on the road, but her mind was racing. “So, you and Mr. Spencer…”

“He’s my landlord,” Marguerite replied flatly. “I’m renting a room from him.”

Nancy was stunned. The ship she had just launched had sunk without a trace. “Oh,” she said, disappointed. “I was thinking that’s why you weren’t interested in Joshua—because you were with Mr. Spencer.”
