Sorry, I'm the Final Boss Now novel Chapter 114

The VIP suite was spacious, with plenty of sunlight and a great view, complete with a dining table. Inside, the group was enjoying a cheerful lunch, and the faint aroma of spicy food drifted into the hallway.

The girl had her long hair pulled back in a messy ponytail and was focused on eating, completely oblivious to the world outside. The others were chatting casually, none of them paying any attention to the doorway.

Joshua frowned and let out a loud, deliberate cough.

Hannah looked at him, confused as to why he had stopped so suddenly. She followed his gaze into the next room and her eyes narrowed when she saw a familiar figure.

A man sat at the table, his movements refined and elegant. He was dressed in a black suit, the string of black beads still on his wrist, exuding an aura of cool authority. Hannah’s expression flickered. Of course. With his beloved Marguerite in the hospital, how could Theobald not be here?

Hearing Joshua’s cough, a thrill went through her. He’s trying to make Theobald jealous by showing how close we are!

The sound finally caught the attention of those inside. Everyone turned to the door and saw Joshua and Hannah standing there, hand in hand.

Theobald’s gaze turned icy. What is Joshua doing at the hospital? He saw Hannah’s arm in a sling and understood. He was here with her. But what was the meaning of this—holding her hand and coughing pointedly outside Marguerite’s door? Whatever his game was, Theobald knew seeing this would hurt Marguerite.

Marguerite, lost in the simple joy of her meal, was the last to react. Just as she was about to turn her head, Theobald’s fingers grazed over his beads. “Did someone drop a hundred-dollar bill?” he asked loudly.

Marguerite’s head whipped around. “Where? Where?”

Nancy also ducked down. “I don’t see it.”

Aaron dived right under the table. “Where’s the money?”

Marguerite beamed, having rarely found money before. She waved the bill at Nancy and Aaron. “We’re rich! We’ll split it three ways!”

Theobald returned to the table. He and Anna exchanged a knowing glance, a hint of a smile in their eyes.

Fuming, Joshua led Hannah away. With Theobald here—the one person who hated him being near Marguerite—his plan was ruined. This time Marguerite hadn’t seen them, but he wouldn’t give up. He’d make sure she did.

Hannah, however, was quietly pleased. Theobald’s glare and his actions were pure jealousy. He might pretend to listen to Marguerite, but his heart was still honest.

Later that afternoon, Theobald and Anna had to return to the office. Nancy also had to leave after dropping Aaron off at school. Theobald wanted to take Marguerite with him, but she insisted on staying at the hospital. Though she wasn’t a natural caretaker, she wanted to be there for Jenny. Anna had already hired a nurse to help.

Theobald had no choice. Fiddling with the beads on his wrist, he reminded her, “Keep the door locked and try not to wander around. Hospitals are full of germs; I don’t want you getting sick.”
