Sorry, I'm the Final Boss Now novel Chapter 50

This morning, it was Theobald who came to pick up Marguerite. He preferred to drive himself unless it was a long trip. He didn't bother bringing her breakfast anymore; he knew she would have already eaten.

Theobald often marveled at how Mr. Spencer, despite his "Ice Prince" persona, had such a down-to-earth lifestyle.

It was Saturday, so Theobald didn't have to go to the office. "Sis, want to go somewhere fun?" he asked. Sunlight streamed through the car window, glinting off the black beads on his wrist.

"Let's go shopping. I want to buy a gift for George," Marguerite said as she buckled her seatbelt.

Theobald paused. "A gift for who?" Then a smile spread across his face. "Have you fallen for Mr. Spencer?"

Marguerite shot him a look. "You think I'm a love-struck fool like you? I accidentally hurt him last night…"

"What?" Theobald's brow furrowed in concern. "Did Mr. Spencer get angry with you?" George was generally mild-mannered, but powerful men were often ruthless at their core. They could be pleasant as long as their interests weren't threatened, but they could turn on you in an instant. Just like how he had flatly refused to sell the house because it would inconvenience him.

"He's got a great temper. He wasn't angry at all," Marguerite assured him. "But I still feel like it was my fault, so I need to apologize properly. Besides, I've been mooching off his food and hospitality for a while now. I can't just take his kindness for granted." She had already decided to get him a small gift to show her appreciation. Relationships were a two-way street, even with strangers, let alone family.

Theobald relaxed. "That's good. How did you do it?"

Marguerite explained the situation.

It was the same paparazzo. He had been staking out the mall's underground parking lot for celebrities when he saw Theobald, laden with four or five shopping bags, walking beside a beautiful girl sipping coffee. The girl looked familiar, like the one from his last scoop. He immediately abandoned his original target, grinning from ear to ear, and started snapping photos.

Last time, the assistant had been there, but today was clearly a date. No wonder Theobald had been so cold to Hannah; he was completely smitten with this new girl. It was perfectly normal for a rich man to have several women on the go at once.
