Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 160

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley**
**Chapter 160: The Taste of Home**

“I have faith in your intelligence, Mr. Voss. You wouldn’t intentionally create obstacles for Emy, would you?”

Damian felt his heart lurch, a shudder running through his body like a sudden chill. It was as if a blade had pierced right through him, leaving a jagged wound of pain that throbbed mercilessly.

The agony surged, and with it came a metallic tang that filled his mouth, a bitter reminder of the turmoil swirling within.

Meanwhile, inside the manor, Emma was animatedly presenting Lucien with the cake she had lovingly baked earlier that day.

“Lucien, look at this! I made a birthday cake just for today. Please, try it and let me know your thoughts.”

“Birthday cake?”

At the mere mention of the words, Lucien’s heart skipped a beat. He instantly understood that this cake was crafted for his mother, a gesture that filled him with warmth.

As he took a bite, the cake dissolved on his tongue—sweet, airy, and fragrant, each morsel a heavenly delight. It was unlike anything he had ever experienced; the taste was ethereal, a symphony of flavors that danced joyously in his mouth.

In an overwhelming rush of gratitude, Lucien enveloped Emma in his arms, holding her so tightly that it felt as if he wanted to merge their very beings into one. His voice quivered with emotion.

“Emma… thank you.”

Just yesterday, she had prepared his mother’s favorite meals with such care.

And today, she had gone above and beyond, crafting gifts and even mastering the art of baking this exquisite cake.

She didn’t need to exert herself like this, yet she did, all for him.

How could Lucien not be touched by her kindness?

Emma wrapped her arms around his waist, grounding him in the moment.

“You’re my mate, Lucien. Our lives are intertwined. Your family is my family too. Making my mother-in-law happy brings me joy.”

Her heartfelt words surged through Lucien like a tidal wave, igniting a rush of emotions within him.

He gently cupped her face, leaning in to kiss her deeply, lost in the overwhelming feelings that surged between them.

To Lucien, finding Emma had been the most extraordinary stroke of luck in his life.

Even if fate led her to another mate one day, even if her warmth towards him faded over time, he would remain steadfast by her side, her unwavering supporter.

“Ms. Tibarn, dinner is ready…”

Corvin emerged from the kitchen, an apron still tied around his waist and a spatula clutched in his hand. The moment his eyes landed on the two of them locked in a kiss at the dining table, he froze in place, his expression a mix of shock and embarrassment. Quickly, he raised the spatula to shield his face, as if it could block out the scene before him.

Emma chuckled softly, playfully nudging Lucien away. She leaned closer to him, her voice barely above a whisper. “Once I finish comforting Marcus and wrap up my training, I’ll come to your room. We can discuss Aurelia’s customs then.”

A flutter of anxiety gripped her heart at the thought of embarrassing herself when they arrived in Aurelia. After all, it was the home of the Central Planet’s most powerful clan, and the royal family at that. She needed to tread carefully.

Lucien smiled tenderly, his eyes sparkling with affection. “Alright, I’ll be waiting.”

He turned to help Corvin with the dishes, stepping into the kitchen where the air was thick with the delicious scents of their earlier meal.

But as soon as he crossed the threshold, Corvin seized his wrist, his expression serious.

“I saw you sneak a kiss from Ms. Tibarn just now,” Corvin declared, his tone grave.
