Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 170

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley**
**Chapter 170: The Return of Malrik**

“Thank you, Your Majesty,” Emma said, her voice steady yet laced with a hint of emotion. She could see the worry etched on Amara’s face, a mother’s concern palpable in the air between them.

“Don’t worry,” Emma reassured her, her gaze softening. “I promise I’ll take good care of Lucien. I won’t let him down. And you know we’ll come back to visit you often.” The promise felt heavy on her heart, but she meant every word.

Amara nodded, her expression shifting from worry to a semblance of satisfaction. “Aurelia is in chaos right now,” she said, her voice tinged with urgency. “So, I won’t be able to see you off. Just be careful on your way.”

As Emma stepped away from the palace with Edric and the others, a familiar chime echoed through her lightcore, pulling her attention. It was a message from Lucien.

**Lucien:** ‘Emma, things here aren’t resolved yet. I’ll be a little late. Marcus and the others will take you home first.’

**Emma:** ‘Focus on what you’re doing. With Marcus here, I’ll be fine. We’ll wait for you at home.’

After sending her reply, Emma closed the lightcore, feeling a strange mix of anticipation and anxiety.

Just then, a burst of energy approached her from the side. It was Aria, dashing toward her with a crystal fish tank clutched tightly in her arms, her face lit with excitement.

“Emma, this is for you!” she exclaimed, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm.

Inside the square crystal tank, a few tiny pink fish danced gracefully, their delicate fins glimmering in the light.

With a bright smile, Aria handed the tank over. “I’m a little disappointed we didn’t get to see Kieran this time,” she admitted, her tone shifting to one of playful regret. “So, I asked someone to prepare these pink fish as a gift for you.”

Emma marveled at the sight. Pink merfolk were rare treasures of the sea, but pink fish, while less extraordinary, held their own charm.

“They’re beautiful,” Emma said, cradling the tank gently, feeling a warmth spread through her. “I promise to take good care of them.”

After they agreed to meet again in a few days for a thrilling beast hunt in the forest, Emma carried the fish tank with her as she boarded the airship alongside Marcus and the others, leaving the familiar sights of Aurelia behind.

Meanwhile, at the manor, Merlin had been waiting for what felt like an eternity, his expression dark and stormy as he watched the messages flicker across his lightcore.

“Useless idiots!” he growled, frustration boiling over. “They can’t even track down a half-dead fish.”

He turned sharply to the subordinate lingering behind him, his voice low and menacing. “What’s Lucien’s status?”

“Mr. Merlin, don’t worry,” the man replied hastily, eager to appease him. “Our men have successfully held him off. He’ll be at least ten minutes behind Ms. Emma Tibarn.”

A flicker of satisfaction crossed Merlin’s face. “Good. Remember—no one is to harm Ms. Tibarn.” His voice carried a weight that demanded obedience.

As his command echoed in the air, Emma’s airship appeared, slicing through the sky above the manor like a predator on the hunt.

Merlin straightened his torn combat suit, the fabric frayed and worn, and raised his hand, signaling his men. The moment the manor’s protective shield flickered open, he commanded, “Now.”

A deafening explosion shattered the stillness, the sound reverberating through the air.

The airship jolted violently, and alarms blared to life, shrieking warnings.

“Enemy attack detected… Enemy attack detected…”
