Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 213

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley 213**
**Chapter 213: Heat of the Wolf**

At first, Emma was convinced that Marcus was merely feigning sleep on the couch, his body relaxed and his breathing steady. She poked him gently a few times, expecting him to stir, but he remained utterly unresponsive.

Only then did the realization hit her—he was truly asleep.

With a soft nudge, she tried again. “Marcus, why are you napping here? Aren’t you supposed to be in your room? Corvin helped you decorate it, didn’t he?”

As if awakening from a deep slumber, Marcus slowly opened his eyes. They were calm and clear, devoid of any lingering drowsiness. He sat up gradually, the cushions of the couch releasing him with a gentle sigh. “I was waiting for you to come and comfort me,” he replied, his voice low and steady.

He had been holding out for the moment they would return to his room together, where she could offer him the comfort he craved.

Emma’s heart sank a little as she recalled that she had been asleep for three days, and in that time, she had yet to offer him the solace he needed.

“Alright then, let’s head to your room now. I’ll comfort you first,” she said, trying to inject some enthusiasm into her tone.

There was still a bit of time before the elders of the Merfolks would arrive, and she felt a sense of urgency to tend to Marcus’s needs.

Silas interjected, “Then I’ll assist Lucien with lunch preparations.”

Marcus wasted no time; he sprang up from the couch and approached Emma, his expression determined.

“Ms. Tibarn, let’s go.”

Emma nodded, leading the way toward his room.

As they walked, she couldn’t help but notice how much more animated Marcus seemed during this heat period. There was a spark in his demeanor that was both intriguing and alarming.

When they reached the doorway of his room, Emma hesitated, her hand poised on the doorknob. She froze momentarily, blinking in disbelief. Turning back to Marcus, she asked, “You… like this kind of style?”

So this is what a male in heat looks like? The transformation was astonishing.

The room had morphed from a shadowy inferno into what resembled a secret garden of desire.

Dim purple lighting bathed the space in an alluring glow.

Semi-transparent black gauze draped over the bed, creating an air of mystery.

An enormous full-length mirror stood against one wall, reflecting the room’s sensual ambiance.

Next to it was a suggestive-looking chair, its purpose unmistakable.

And beside that chair—an array of small, unspeakable toys lay neatly arranged, each one a silent testament to Marcus’s preferences.

There wasn’t a single ordinary item to be found in the entire room.

Marcus felt the heat rush to his cheeks. I had Corvin decorate for Ms. Tibarn. But is this really her style? Now I can’t even step inside.

“Ms. Tibarn… do you want to go in?” he asked, his voice laced with uncertainty.

Maybe I should just retreat to my old room with the ice crystal coffin.

After we bond, I can sleep in her room.

If she doesn’t want me on the bed, I’ll settle for the floor.

This room might be better left untouched.
