Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 218

**TITLE: When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley 218**
**CONTENT: Chapter 218 A Vow of Loyalty**

Did Malrik truly have a twin brother? The thought nagged at Emma as she sat in her room, staring out at the vast expanse of A3. Ever since her arrival, there had been a deafening silence from him. No messages, no signs of life. It felt as if he had vanished into thin air, leaving her with a growing sense of unease. What could it mean?

Malrik, who had intended to reveal everything to Emma, now found himself paralyzed by uncertainty. Ms. Tibarn’s fury loomed over him like a dark cloud. If he dared to disclose the truth—that it was Merlin who had orchestrated all those devious acts—would she even believe him? His mind raced with possibilities, but none offered solace. What was he to do now?

He felt himself spiraling into a pit of anxiety, each thought dragging him deeper.

Lucien’s voice cut through the tension, icy and resolute. “If the Enchanter Clan dares to disrupt my mother’s banquet, Aria will ensure they pay dearly.” He paused, his expression hardening. “As for how the Merfolk choose to respond—that is their own affair. Aria will not intervene.”

Turning his piercing gaze toward Kieran, Lucien continued, “You’ve shared the details of your injuries. Now, tell me—why were you clandestinely lurking in our estate?”

Kieran understood the weight of Lucien’s words. This was no idle inquiry; it was a prelude to retribution. Regardless of his intentions, hiding within a female’s home was a misstep he could not deny.

“Go ahead,” Kieran urged, his voice steady yet earnest. He was willing to endure any repercussions, as long as it meant remaining close to Emma. “Whatever you require of me, I will accept it without hesitation.”

Lucien remained silent for a moment, casting a glance at Silas, who interjected with a casual air, “No need to be anxious, Merfolk King. While your choice to hide here was questionable, we are only seeking compensation.”

“Water changes and medicine come at no cost. However, since you feasted on my leaves and the fish from the lake, we simply ask for one thousand pink pearls.”

Kieran’s thoughts raced. One thousand pearls? Surely that should suffice for Emma’s enjoyment, right? He felt a twinge of guilt. He couldn’t demand more—what if the Merfolk were unable to gather that much?

His eyes widened as he absorbed Silas’s request.

Such generosity! Emma’s spirit was pure, and her mate exhibited a level of magnanimity that astounded him. After everything, they were only asking for a modest number of pearls.

Noticing Kieran’s astonishment, Silas hesitated. Had he overstepped? Was even a thousand pearls too much to ask?

He considered lowering the demand, but not out of pity—Kieran’s gaze toward Emma was anything but innocent. Allowing him to linger could mean inviting yet another rival into the fray.

“One thousand pearls is acceptable,” Kieran replied, his eagerness palpable. “I’ll provide as many as you desire.”

His cheeks flushed a deeper shade as he added, “It’s just that… my body hasn’t fully healed yet, so I can’t shed tears at the moment.”

If he were capable of crying, he would have already offered Emma all the pearls in the world.
