When Lucien heard Emma planned to keep Aria for the evening, he immediately sent Edric and Silas off to prepare the meal.

He also had a room readied for Drake, then retreated to his own quarters.

Aria clung to Emma like a second shadow, leaving Marcus and Corvin with no choice but to entertain her mates first. Naturally, Corvin did the hosting alone, while Marcus slumped in the background like decoration.

Aria had finally reunited with Emma, and she had a thousand things to say. She paid no attention to her mates.

“What happened?” Emma asked, her curiosity piqued.

Aria glanced around to make sure no one else could hear, then lowered her voice even further. “A female human was discovered on the Central Planet.”

Emma froze, eyes widening.

“What did you just say? A female human?”

Aria nodded seriously.

“It hasn’t been announced yet, and the information isn’t entirely confirmed. I only overheard it in secret.

“Right now, only my Mom, the chief of the Suncrest clan, and a few top Empire officials know

about it.

“Since it’s still uncertain whether she’s really a female human, my Mom hasn’t told anyone. Even Lucien doesn’t know of this.”

Aria checked to ensure Lucien hadn’t emerged, then continued.

“Emma, I’m only telling you this. After hearing all this, pretend this conversation never happened. Do not tell Lucien. If he asks Mom and she finds out that I leaked this information, she’ll kill me.”

Aria shook her head. “Mom didn’t say who she was. I only heard that the Suncrest Clan found her, and she’s living with them now.”

Her tone dropped even lower.

“I also heard that the young chief Kael has already become her mate. Ever since they bonded, he skyrocketed to Rank 10 in record time. He’s about to break through to Rank 11.”

Emma frowned, but a hint of relief surfaced. That female human was with the Suncrest Clan, nothing to do with her.

She asked, puzzled, “I thought Kael was with Evie Graham?”

Aria’s eyes darkened slightly. “You don’t know? Evie is dead.”

“Dead?”

Emma was stunned. She hadn’t heard a word of it.

“How did it happen?”

Aria explained, “Word is, she went hunting a beast and was killed. Her mates and followers died with her. Mom said Kael Auris survived only because he wasn’t one of her followers. And I also heard that Kael met the female human in the same forest where she died.”

Emma hadn’t expected such shocking news upon returning. Since this information was tightly sealed, only a handful of Central Planet officials, Her Majesty, and a few Suncrest therians knew about it. Without Aria, Emma wouldn’t have learned about all that so quickly.

After the shocking revelations, Aria nibbled on the little treats Emma had prepared for her, smiling.

“Emma, Lucien went straight into his room when he got back and hadn’t come out. He’s probably building his nest, right? Are you two about to bond for real?”

She knew Lucien and Emma hadn’t formally bonded yet.
