Chapter 329 Remy’s Future

Normally, Remy was just a tiny fruit–he didn’t even have a mouth–so Emma had no idea how he’d managed to swallow that entire fruit in the first place.

“Rawr!”

Remy knew he’d scared Mommy. He’d been lying motionless inside the box, pretending to be dead this whole time. But when he finally heard her gentle voice, he popped out of the box at once and landed on her shoulder.

With his now much larger, round little body, he rubbed affectionately against her cheek. “Mommy, Remy didn’t mean to scare you. I’m sorry. I won’t ever do it again.”

At least he was quick to admit his mistakes.

Emma smiled softly and stroked his smooth, plump body. “Mommy believes you.”

Then she asked gently, “How do you feel now, sweetheart? Any discomfort anywhere?”

Remy shook his chubby little body. “Nope! Remy feels really good–super comfy. Just… a little sleepy.”

His voice was drowsy and slow, thick with exhaustion.

Emma turned to Silas, worried. “Silas, is he really okay? Why is he suddenly so sleepy?”

Silas explained softly as he lifted Remy from Emma’s shoulder and placed him on his own. “Don’t worry, Emy. He needs to sleep to digest the Ebonheart fruit’s energy.”

“Rawr…” Remy was already too sleepy to keep his eyes open. Listening to Daddy’s calm voice, he quickly drifted off into deep slumber.

Emma watched as the little one tilted sideways and almost rolled off Silas’s shoulder—until a vine wrapped around him midair.

Within seconds, the deep–blue vines wove themselves into a small cradle, gently laying Remy inside.

“How long will he sleep?” Emma asked.

Silas glanced at the tiny fruit–shaped cub nestled in the cradle and shook his head. “I’m not sure yet. But don’t worry, he’s fine. I’ll look after him and let you know the moment he wakes.”

He sighed helplessly.

Their cub’s talent was extraordinary–sometimes even he didn’t know how to handle what came with it.

Emma stared at the little one anxiously. “Silas, promise me you’ll tell me the moment he wakes up.”

“I promise,” Silas said seriously. “You’ll be the first to know.”

Emma looked down at the empty box on the table and sighed. “Now that the Ebonheart fruit’s gone, what about your ascension?”

She truly wanted to help him rise to the next level–but she knew he’d never accept her method.

He only smiled, taking her hand. “Don’t worry. I’ll find another way. I’ve been stuck at level ten for years already—no rush. As long as Remy’s safe, that’s all that matters.”

He had tried to find an Ebonheart fruit before, but luck had never been on his side. Over the years, he’d even posted bounties on the network looking for items that could help petalyn therians ascend, but none had ever been delivered.

Lucien walked over and gently brushed his fingers over the sleeping cub. “Silas’s ascension will have to wait. We’ll find another Ebonheart fruit somehow.”

Then he glanced at the tiny creature sleeping soundly. “Remy’s speed earlier was unbelievable, so fast that even Marcus and I couldn’t react in time. And he hasn’t even awakened his ability yet. Once he does, his potential will be terrifying.”

He turned to Silas with a thoughtful look. “I have a suggestion. Once Remy awakens, let each of us take turns teaching him. We can’t do anything to his ability, but we can pass on our skills.”

Corvin’s eyes lit up instantly. “I’ll teach him how to build mechs and starships!”

Marcus grinned. “I’ll show him how to hunt.”
