Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 406

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley**
**Chapter 406: Unleashed Auras**

“Ms. Tibarn, I assure you, I am not angry.”

Marcus felt a surge of satisfaction as he spoke those words, though he would never dare to show any hint of anger in front of Emma. There was something about her coaxing that made him feel secretly pleased, as if her concern was a balm for his frustrations.

He continued, his tone earnest yet tinged with irritation, “Ms. Tibarn, my concern lies with Calum. He is nothing but a source of annoyance. The moment he arrives, chaos follows. I truly believe it would be best if we returned him to the Beast God.”

Just then, Calum, who had just emerged from a refreshing shower, descended the stairs. The moment he caught wind of Marcus’s words, a dangerous glint flickered in his eyes, narrowing them into a predatory gaze.

Marcus, oblivious to the impending confrontation, had his focus solely on Emma, his head bowed as if she were the center of his universe.

“Ms. Tibarn,” Marcus continued, his voice dripping with disdain, “Calum is nothing but a troublemaker. Beast God Mountain is not a place for the faint-hearted. If he somehow managed to return alive, it’s likely because even the Beast God found him unworthy.”

He paused, letting his words sink in. “A beast rejected by the Beast God—why should we keep him around? Are we not inviting disaster upon ourselves? We might as well send him back to the depths from which he crawled.”

Just as Marcus’s words hung in the air, Lucien’s voice cut through the tension like a knife. “Marshal, long time no see.”

The term “Marshal” made Marcus stiffen, his head snapping toward the entrance.

There stood Calum, still glistening with moisture from his shower, clad in a dark silk robe that hung loosely around his waist. The collar was slightly ajar, revealing a glimpse of his defined collarbone, a stark contrast to the tension in the room.

His cropped white hair was damp, with a few rebellious strands sticking to his forehead. Yet, despite the casual appearance, he exuded an overwhelming presence—cold, sharp, and impossible to ignore, like a blade drawn from its sheath.

Calum didn’t even glance at Marcus. Instead, his attention shifted to Lucien, his voice smooth and almost inviting. “No need for formalities at home. Now that we are to be one family, just call me Calum.”

As he spoke, his gaze drifted toward Emma, revealing a rare flicker of warmth that made her heart flutter.

“One family?” Marcus scoffed, a cold laugh escaping his lips. “You are merely her match, not her mate. She can cancel that match at any moment. To speak of family now is nothing short of premature, Marshal Calum.”

The atmosphere thickened, palpable tension crackling in the air like electricity.

Emma caught the icy glint in Calum’s eyes and felt her heart constrict with anxiety. Just as she was about to intervene and diffuse the situation, Silas tugged on her sleeve, his innocent voice breaking through the tension.

“Emy, weren’t you planning to make barbecue for Marcus and Lucien? I’m not sure which meat is best. Can we go to the freezer together?”

Silas, of course, was well aware of the grilling process—he had grilled countless times before.

In that moment, Emma quickly realized that Silas was trying to shield her from the brewing conflict.
