Farewell My Stepfather novel Chapter 57

Chapter57

“I had already thought so, otherwise how could a 21–year–old graduate just join the company and become an independent designer?”

“No way, who has such a strong background? I heard Lynda was very polite to her, even personally opened the car door during the interview, tsk… What kind of big shot is she?”

“Keep it down, what if the real owner hears you? Don’t you want to stay out of trouble?”

Paulette stood at the corner, holding tightly onto the cup in her hand.

Cecilia came over and, seeing her ugly face, I knew roughly what was going on. She pursed her lips and said, “I was going to remind you, but seeing you so energetic these past two days, I thought maybe this wouldn’t affect you.”

But then again, who can stand being talked about behind their back?

Cecilia patted her shoulder and comforted her, saying, “They’re just jealous of you, don’t take it to heart.”

Paulette looked at the cup in her hand, forced a smile, and said, “Thanks… I’m fine.”

She just didn’t understand why these people, who clearly didn’t know the truth, could talk so convincingly as if their words could completely negate her as a person.

She sighed, “You go get some water, Cecilia. I’m heading back first.”

Chapter 57

Paulette never liked getting into these pointless arguments, she just let her actions speak for themselves.

The whole design team is now preparing the design for the spring new products. The designers‘ works have to go through a group review and finally be decided by the director which designs to use.

Paulette faced a crucial moment as soon as she arrived, which was quite a challenge for her.

But it was also a good opportunity to challenge myself.

When Paulette was in school, she drew a lot of sketches. She took them out and organized them, feeling that they were all pretty good and just needed a little tweaking to be usable.

Kaylyn got these drafts, furrowing her brows as she flipped through them, “Are these all your designs?”

“Yes, Ms. Gentry, take a look and see if you can use it. If you can, I can make some adjustments.”

I have to say, these designs really catch the eye.

Definitely not something a graduate could draw.

Kaylyn lifted her eyelids, glanced at Paulette for a moment, and then put down the design draft, saying, “Let me keep the draft for now. I’ll discuss it with you once the main style for the quarter is decided.”

Paulette didn’t think much, nodded and said, “Okay, I’ll go busy myself first.”

Coming out of the team leader’s office, Cecilia whispered, “How did it go? Is it okay?”

“I think it should be fine.”
