After Jeremiah got home, he waited a long time but Paulette didn’t show up. He frowned and checked the time, it was almost ten o’clock.
Still not off work?
With a flick of his fingers, he sent a message to Lynda.
The answer I got was Today we finished work at the usual time, and by 6:30 there was no one left in the office.
Jeremiah frowned, grabbed his coat and headed out, making a call back: “What do you mean no one at the company at 6:30? People haven’t returned yet, phones are not working, how do you explain that?”
Lynda was already ready to go to bed when she suddenly received a call from her boss. She was already feeling anxious, and now this new problem came up, so she was a bit caught off guard.
“Wait, you mean… Paulette hasn’t gone back yet?”
“Did you come back?”
Lynda took a deep breath and quickly sat up in bed, “Mr. Swanson, don’t worry, I’ll go check right away.”
Ten minutes later, Lynda got a hair–raising answer from her assistant.
Paulette and Cecilia were taken out by Kaylyn for a social event.

“She’s really picky about who she chooses…why doesn’t she just ask Mr. Swanson to go with her?” Lynda gritted her teeth and said, “Hurry up and find out exactly where it is!”
Where could he still sleep?
Lynda quickly changed into a set of clothes and rushed out the door.
Got the address, she immediately sent the location to Jeremiah, with a hint of guilt in her voice, “Mr. Swanson, I’m on my way there too, let’s
meet at the entrance.”
He didn’t answer and just hung up.
Lynda kept saying Oh no a few times, driving and frantically calling Kaylyn.
But at that moment, Kaylyn was busy helping Lawson persuade Paulette and Cecilia to drink, and didn’t hear the sound coming from her bag.
Paulette’s face turned red, she couldn’t even take another sip.
Cecilia was doing better, but she drank more than Paulette.
She tried to stay alert, thinking of going out to call for help or grab the phone to call the police… but those two acted like they were in cahoots, never giving her a chance.
“Oh my…look at Paula and Cecilia, they were both so drunk.”
Kaylyn smiled and said, but she was secretly relieved.

Kaylyn casually pushed Paulette, who was unprepared, and she bumped straight into Lawson. “Mr. Marshall is going to sign the contract with us tomorrow, we are all on the same team, right Mr. Marshall?”
