There was this bond between the Serafim and Decratic. As long as one lived, the other would exist too. If the circle of the Serafim continued, it meant Decratic still existed as well.
And Iris determined that she would be the last Serafim, which meant, she was going to destroy Rei. She was not sure how Rei could tangle himself with Decratic, because from what she remembered from Na’s memory, Rei was loyal to her, there was no way he crossed the bridge and asked for Decratic’s help.
There was only one reason if Na didn’t have any recollection of that, it meant, Rei crossed to the other side after her death.
As if to answer that, the moment Rei tainted Iris with his dark magic and Iris absorbed it, all the memories of Rei’s life burst in her mind. She could see what happened. She saw what Rei had done to her mother and many more...
She saw her mother as a baby, Rei put her in the middle of a rune that was drawn on the floor by something like blood. It was not only her mother, but also all the baby girls that the Serafim gave birth to.
This was the reason why all the baby girl from the Serafim would stay within the pure faction for a year before they were returned to their mother.
Rei wanted to look for Na. He knew one day Na would born again, since Decratic still existed, but after decades and centuries, he couldn’t find it.
Iris didn’t know what exactly Rei did to the babies, but every time those poor babies were put in the middle of the rune, they would cry until their faces turned red.
There were so many babies throughout the five hundred years Rei lived, but he couldn’t find the right one, until Iris’s mother...
Only then Iris realized what Rei was trying to do.
He forced the babies to their limit, where they were being hurt to the point, they had to protect themselves and the divine power would appear, because that was what happened to baby Nera.
It could be said, when the babies were within the rune, they were being ’tortured’, so they would retaliate. The pain wouldn’t kill them, Rei didn’t intend to kill them, because his main goal was to find Na.
But, sure enough, the babies had to go through so much pain for his ambition.
Because they were too young to remember that, no one could tell what Rei actually did to the babies that he took from the Serafim.
For a whole year, Rei would bring only pain to the baby, which rendered them weak, most of the pain came from black magic, which could weaken their divine power.
Therefore, most of the Serafim had to go to purify themselves in the Great Shrine, where the five swords that contain Na’s power were.
But, unfortunately for Abby, the map to the Great Shrine disappeared, therefore, she was born so weak, since her divine power was ruined by Rei and she couldn’t have the help she needed to salvage it.
That was why, Rei could summon the Sylph, he found a way to do it. Therefore, despite he was a creature with dark magic, he was rather resistance with divine power.
And even though some of the baby had the divine power, but this was not the same divine power that Na had, until Nera.
Nera was exactly what Rei waited for. She had it. She was different from the rest of the baby and Rei was too happy to finally find her.
Rei kept Nera. He raised her, taught her everything that she needed as the proper Serafim, all the knowledge, he saw her as Na.
"You worked for Decratic," Iris hissed when she gained her conscience back, the sword that drove to Rei’s heart was tainted by the black magic. Rei resisted. "No. You offered your soul to Decratic. You offered yourself as the sacrifice."
Rei looked at her sadly. "As long as Decratic lived, Na will live too. I don’t care about anything else." Rei deepened his clutch on Iris’s neck. "I only want to be with her. I have waited so long. I am her protector and forever we should be together."
That was how the Serafim and Decratic’s fate tangled with one another.
"But, even if I can’t be with her, I want to vanish with her..." Rei smiled at Iris gently. "Na, you don’t know the pain I have to go through just to be with you... and how much..."
Rei didn’t finish his word when dark wisp emerged from his body and as if on cue, Rei let out an earth shattering scream that you could make you feel the chill that ran down your spine.
Cane pulled Iris with him and grabbed the sixth sword in her hand, as he slashed Rei’s body into two. The body was cut into half and dropped to the sands, as it stopped swallowing them and turned solid again.
Lou and the other had been buried half of their body when it finally stopped and Cane pulled them out by using his black wisp.
"Damn it! That’s scary!" Lou grumbled, as he dusted his cloak. "That’s it? Only like that?" Lou approached Rei’s bodies. There was no blood and his expression didn’t show any pain at all. "Is he dead?"
Iris approached Rei, she frowned and suddenly her eyes widened, she shook her head. "He is not. The spirit..."
The moment she mentioned it, there was this red smoke that shot toward Lou and vanished into his body, as the merchant knelt down and roared in pain.
