Chapter 121

“As I said, it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it was damn good,” she tells him.

He smiled and promised to do better.

Ezra gives Tyler a token for listening, Christina gives Ezra one for giving her a great sparring challenge, and it goes on and on. Nearly everyone gives a token to Christina for her actions this morning. Noah practically begs her to take all of his, but once again, she kindly refuses, taking one for protecting his title. He gives her four more, giving multiple reasons as he puts them down in front of her. She, in turn, gives him two for maintaining his integrity and for being honest.

Christina gives me two for honesty and vulnerability and when it‘ s my turn, I give her three, one for doing what’s right with Noah and two for listening and understanding.

When we’re done James stands.

“Alphas, I mentioned at the beginning of the semester that heavy is the necklace of the person deserving the title of Alpha. Some of your necklaces are starting to look pretty heavy. I’m proud of you. Keep up the good work!”

When we’re done, I quickly shower, then head to the classroom. Since our partners will be face up today, the curtains will be in use. They aren’t full curtains, but they provide a barrier between each of the beds. James and I can still see into each section to make sure everything is going well.

208 Vouchers

“I’ve just finished turning on the bed warmer and making sure the table is locked when the young Alphas begin walking in, all but Noah. They begin checking their tables as Christina walks

out.

As always, I walk over and help her up on the dais.

“Ready for tonight?” I ask her.

“I guess we’ll see,” she says. I can tell she’s nervous, but I’m not sure if that’s because she’ll be face up or if it’s because of our conversation last night. Hopefully by the end of class she’ll be feeling more confident on both counts.

“How is your body feeling? Still sensitive?” I ask, needing to know just how much I can touch her during class.

“Just a little,” she says as the other partners begin walking in and I dim the lights.
