Chapter 149
I feel myself relax and Benjamin removes his hand from my shoulder. They’re right. Christina’s too good to get taken off guard by anything that Logan says to her. She’s already turning this conversation around and is about to show Logan what a true Alpha looks like.
“What kind of Alpha uses bullying tactics anyway? The kind who couldn’t get past the first challenge in the Beast? The kind who can’t tell when a woman is faking an orgasm? Maybe it’s the kind of Alpha who can’t find a woman’s clit even after two weeks of searching. Or maybe it’s the kind of Alpha that no one really expects to pass the Academy?”
Ezra snickers before he can cover it and I watch as Tyler sits back, smiling broadly as he crosses his arms, ready to watch the show.
“Damn,” Noah says softly.
“How many women have you slept with in your pack? Half of them? All of them? Not that any of them walked away satisfied, but how do you think your mate will feel when you meet her and she realizes that you’ve shared your bed with every she–wolf in your pack?” she asks.
“I’m an Alpha,” he snarls.
“That’s a title that you hide behind,” she snarls back “Tell me, what if it was your mate? What if she’s part of your pack and she’s slept with every male in your pack? How would you feel?”
He growls, clenching his fists.
“You wouldn’t like it so much, would you? Would you question. every time one of your pack members looked at her a little too long? Would you wonder if she was comparing you to them in bed, because goddess knows YOU wouldn’t compare. Or maybe she decides you’re not worth it to begin with and she rejects you, making you even weaker than you already are.”
Logan has started panting, his face turning red with his anger. James subtly moves closer in case he decides to physically lash out at Christina.
“Tell me Logan, how long will it be before someone in your pack decides you’re not worth following? How long before someone comes in and tries to take over your pack because there’s nothing more to you than false bravado?” she sneers.
“You don’t know me at all.”
“I know you thought you were going to use this class to try to make me feel like less of an Alpha. Only an Alpha who isn’t worth their title would do something like that. I can’t possibly be the only one that sees that. So, do tell me Logan, how many of your pack members won’t be at all surprised when you fail this semester ar can’t take over your pack? And how many chances will you get before Daddy–dear changes his mind about your value to the pack and your ability to lead it?”
Logan shoots to his feet, slamming his chair aside, before stomping out.
“And that, young Alphas, is how you turn a conversation and take control when someone tries to Intimidate you. Well done, Christina, James says.
She stands and looks at me. I can see the flush on her cheeks. She’s furious. I give her a smile and nod.
“You did great,” I tell her.
