There was something about Luna Mia telling me that my father barely passed the Academy that flipped something in my head. All my life, I’ve been trying to please a man who wasn’t able to be pleased. Not because of anything that I’ve done, but because he knows that it wouldn’t take much for me to be a better Alpha than he is. What kind of man, what kind of Alpha, what kind of FATHER tries to make his son fail so he can feel like less of a failure?
The moment I decided to stop trying to win my father’s
approval, everything inside me felt like it settled and relaxed in a way it never has before.
Luna Mia has been such a great mentor to me in more ways than one. She’s just the right amount of brutal honesty and loving kindness. And I feel pretty smug when she tells me I have some of the best hands and mouth she’s ever had the pleasure of experiencing, because I know she’s not just saying it. She means every word.
