The Alpha Train (Christina and Sebastian) novel Chapter 206

Chapter 7

I look at Shane. He and I had been wondering that very thing.

“No, I don’t.”

“I intend to remove his title. I’d like your thoughts on promoting your Gamma to Beta. He was standing beside the two of you when

everything started. That says to me that he was ready to protect you both. Do you agree?”

“Yes,” Shane says. “He has been very vocal about supporting us.

“Good. That is the type of Beta that you need. Someone you can trust. Beta Dorian is not that person.”

“I agree,” Shane says.

I’m not sure what it is, but something about having Christian here is already making Shane seem more confident. He’s even sitting straighter than he was when we walked into the room.

I look at Christian again as he and Shane talk through the plan for the ceremony. How can one man have so much of an impact after such a short amount of time?

And an even more important question for me, why is he having such an impact on me and my emotions?

Christian

The moment Enya touched my hand, I felt it, a zing of awareness. Then when she licked the blood off my hand, that awareness went straight to my dick.

I felt her shock at my strength, the same as Shane’s. For him though, my strength made him feel secure that I could manage the pack. For Enya, there was a hint of fear behind the surprise. I don’t want her to fear me, so I pushed the unexpected desire flowing through me down and reassured her that she has nothing to fear from me.

Then, she hadn’t let go of my hand. The pulses of desire just kept coming the longer she touched me. I had to force myself not to snatch my hand out our hers. However, when I asked for my hand back, she jerked back like I’d burned her.

Where Shane seems to be calming because of my presence, it seems to be having the opposite effect on Enya. I get the feeling that she doesn’t trust me, which is understandable with everything going on in the pack. There’s also a very strong protectiveness inside of her toward her brother. I felt the same inside him towards her as well. It’s good to know that they are close. I’m hoping I can use that to make her feel more comfortable in my presence and to help them heal from their grief.

After Shane and I finish preparing for me to take over as Alpha, I grab my bag and quickly change my shirt. I’d rather not start my tenure here with blood on my clothes.

When I refocus on the other two, Enya is looking away, but I see the blush on her cheeks. I’m guessing that means that she’s not the type of female who sleeps around. That makes something deep inside me happy. I don’t have time to focus on that right now, so instead, I look at Shane.

“Ready?”

“Yes.”
