She looks around, assessing. “That

group with Gabe,” she says, making me smile. It’s exactly what I was thinking. They are the ones who are

still exhibiting the most discontent in the pack.

“Shall we?” I ask, gesturing for her to proceed me.

The group looks up as we approach. “Mind if we join you?” I ask.

The group looks between me and Enya before one of them, the leader I‘ m guessing, shrugs. “It’s your pack, Alpha.”

“Temporarily,” I say, waiting for the group to make room, then pulling over two chairs. I get Enya seated, then sit beside her.

“When are you planning to let the warriors out of the cells, Alpha,” another warrior asks.

“Alpha Shane and I are meeting with them this evening,” I say as the omegas bring our plates to the table.

“Thank you, Jolie,” Enya says, smiling at the omega.

“Yes, thank you, Jolie,” I say, making the omega blush.

“You’re welcome, Alphas,” she says before heading back to the kitchen.

“Beta Dorian isn’t going to like being demoted,” one of the warriors

says.

“He’s already been demoted, Steven. Whether he likes it or not, he wasn’t acting as a Beta should. No Beta worth his title would have

allowed the insolence from this group that you were all allowed, even if you are his brother,” she says.

I’m not sure if she’s always this confident, or if having me at her side is making her more confident, but I like that she’s not taking any crap from the group. I also make a mental note that Steven is Dorian’s brother, obviously a younger brother since he didn’t have the Beta position.

“You’ve got a smart mouth, pup,” Steven growls.

“Watch yourself,” I snarl, leaning forward and letting my aura out. “Or you’ll find yourself in a cell beside your brother. I won’t tolerate anyone disrespecting others in this pack, especially the Alpha heirs. I was very clear yesterday. Get in line or get out.”

I watch as everyone at the table lifts their neck in submission except for Enya.

“I’ve lost my appetite,” Steven says, pushing away from the table and standing. I tighten my aura around him, forcing him to stay in place.

“Tell me you understand what I just said,” I growl slowly, standing up to face him.
