I search his face, finding nothing.
“Was he responsible for killing my father?”
“That’s what we’re going to find out.”
“Why?” I ask him.
“We’ll figure that out too, but I’m guessing it was about power. If I had to guess, Dorian offered him a position in the pack. If not Beta, then probably Gamma. I’m guessing that Steven was offered the Beta position, since he’s Dorian’s brother.”
I set the glass down and scrub my hands over my face. “You’re saying that the attack, my father’s death, it was orchestrated? That our pack members set it up?”
“I’m saying it’s a possibility.
I nod, thinking about how Enya will be devastated if she finds out.
“Don’t say anything to Enya, not until we know for sure.”
“Alright,” he says, sitting back. “We can’t do any more tonight. Do you want to talk it through?”
“No, I think I’m done for the day. Is it okay if we skip our ch tonight?”
“Of course. If you need me, you know where to find me.”
I head upstairs to my room, thinking through how much has occurred
