I’m glad that I got to use that on Enya and she seemed to really enjoy
Since she’s asleep, I use the opportunity to kiss her forehead. I’m not sure she’d allow it when she’s awake, but it just feels right to press my lips against her skin. It makes me wonder if my father isn’t right. Could this be the beginning of a mate bond that neither of us will realize until she’s eighteen? If so, how do I feel about her going to the Academy?
It would be so wrong for me to deny her that opportunity just because it would make me jealous. I know what my relationship with Talia was like. Yes, you become intimate, you have to. But if you set the parameters of the relationship from the beginning, then it’s nothing more than two young Alphas exploring their sexuality and learning how to appreciate a partner’s body while drawing out the most amazing orgasms of their life. You can become temporary friends with benefits, so long as both parties understand and agree that it’s temporary.
I was raised to understand that the sex class is still a class. It’s not about hooking up. It’s not about cheating on your mate. It’s about becoming the best lover possible for your mate. And if that’s the case, should I deny that for Enya, especially if it turns out that she’s NOT my mate?
At some point, I fall asleep with her still lying against me. I wa. up in the middle of the night and realize that while I’m horribly
uncomfortable, she is still curled up on my lap fast asleep.
What I want is to put her in my bed, curl up around her, and go back to sleep. But instead, I take her to her room and put her to bed like the good guardian that I am.

That doesn’t mean that I don’t kiss her forehead again. But I leave her there and go back to my room wishing I’d had a shirt on that would now smell like her. Since I don’t, I just sniff her lingering scent on my skin and fall into a deep sleep.
The next morning in warrior training, I notice that she’s once again acting shy, but I put her with a warrior I feel will challenge her and then I focus on the other warriors. I need to spend some time with Braden, but I haven’t had that chance yet.
So, rather than focus on one warrior, I begin to work with the group, giving them the skill set I want them to work on and then going around to help them improve.
I’m impressed that the ones who came out of the cells are actually working hard to improve and through the Alpha bond, I can tell it’s because they are excited to learn, not because they want to overthrow Shane.
He and I worked on these same skills yesterday so he’s able to assist me in working with the pack members, which seems to go a long way to helping them begin to accept him.
About halfway through warrior training, a warrior calls out to me.
