Chapter 45
“Or that you pass a class,” Alpha Benjamin says.
“Or that you find a way to defeat the Beast,” Alpha Daniel says.
“There are a lot of reasons why you could and should thank your fellow Alphas. If you’re giving away more than you’re receiving, perhaps you need to think long and hard about why that is,” Alpha James says. “If you’re doing well, you can afford to be generous.
He looks around, waiting for more questions. “Points are disseminated. every night during dinner for the previous twenty–four hours. Yes, we do it publicly and yes you have to say why you are giving the points,” he says, looking over at the assistants before looking back at us. “We do it publicly so that you can clearly see who your competition is. Does it put a target on your back? Possibly. Or maybe it just gives others the necessary incentive to work harder.”
“Do instructors still earn points?” Alpha Will asks, making me frown.
“Fuck yeah we do! I love earning more points than the young Alphas.” Alpha James says, smirking at us.
I smile at his enthusiasm. Once an Alpha, always an Alpha.
When all questions have been answered, Alpha James dismisses us. I‘ m sure the others‘ brains are swirling with the information we just learned, I know mine is. But I have work to do tonight.
I walk over to Haley. “I’m going to drop this off then we can. eet down here and go for that walk?”
12:200
“I’ll be here,” she says.
“Excellent.”
I turn to walk out, seeing Noah walking over to Emma, and Ezra coming up to Charlotte.
“Hi, Charlotte. I’m Alpha Ezra. I thought maybe we could talk and get to know each other a bit.”
“Okay,” she says.
I walk out of the room and see Logan and Liam heading outside to go for a run. I shake my head as I jog upstairs. Those two will be lucky if their arrogance doesn’t get in the way of them graduating.
Now that we’re finally at the Academy, it’s time for me to show Christina what it will be like for her in the classroom and also for me to make her come. I’m more excited about that than I should be. Almost as excited as I am about tasting her, but that’s still a few days off.
As we all begin to leave after our meeting, I walk up to Christina who is watching the young Alphas approach their partners. Well, three of them anyway. Logan and Liam walk out.
“Well, that’s disappointing,” Mia says, shaking her head. “They’re not even going to make an effort.”
“Are you really surprised? Considering who we’re assigned to?” Sylvie asks.
“Nope.”
“Christina,” I say, as I approach.
“Agreed.” Mia says to her.
