Chapter 203
Mia got into the car without a fuss.
Ian walked over to Chloe and handed her an envelope stuffed with cash.

He said, “I won’t be able to make it to the wedding in two days. Mind passing this gift along for me?”
Chloe hesitated, not taking it right away. “If you’re busy, why not just send him the money on WhatsApp?”
Ian fixed his gaze on Chloe, eyes lingering with a restless, tangled emotion he couldn’t quite put into words.
He said, “Chloe, do you really have to draw such a line between us?”
Just then, Jill popped out and called, “Chloe, let’s go home.”
Chloe turned and replied, “Alright, coming.”
Ian couldn’t help but clasp Chloe’s arm, holding her back for a second.
Chloe paused, a flicker of indecision passing over her face, then took the envelope from Ian. “Alright, I’ll bring it over for you,” she said quietly.
With that, she turned and jogged into the yard.
Ian lingered at the gate for ages, unable to tear himself
away.
Mia called his name from the car more than once before he finally snapped out of it.
Once Ian sat down, Mia couldn’t help but ask, “Ian, do you ever regret divorcing Chloe?”
Ian paused, then turned his head to give Mia a thoughtful look.
He had worries and a feeling he couldn’t quite let go, but he didn’t regret agreeing to let Chloe end their marriage.
With Chloe, he was determined to begin again–no matter what it took.
He was ready to fight for the love they once shared.
He wanted Chloe to come back to him, not out of obligation, but of her own free will.
The next morning, Chloe sat down to breakfast with her parents.
After splitting up with fan, those moments with her parents felt more precious than ever to her.
She really loved how free and easy her life had become now.
Jill couldn’t help but ask, worry etched on her face, “Is lan still hung up on you? Is he still chasing after you?”

Chloe put down her breakfast and sent her parents a reassuring look. “Don’t worry, Mom, Dad. He only stopped by last night to pick up Mia and asked me for a quick favor, that’s all.”
Jill let out a sigh of relief.
Frank chimed in, “We watched Ian grow up, after all. He’s always been a decent, well–mannered guy. Chloe walked away from the marriage with nothing, just to let him be with that woman. Now that he’s got what he wanted, he shouldn’t bother her anymore.”
Chloe kept quiet about Andrea.
Andrea had killed Ian’s half–brother. There was no way Ian would ever let her off the hook.
After breakfast, Chloe quickly tidied up the table and left for the hospital.
She had just parked and stepped out of her car when she spotted Andrea heading straight for her.
Chloe felt a wave of exhaustion wash over her. “Andrea, seriously? You want to mess with me this early in the morning? Don’t blame me if I slap you.”
Andrea shot her a smug grin. “I left my coat in the exam room yesterday, so I came to pick it up. Why are you so worked up, Dr. Irvine?”
Chloe shot back, “Did you really have to track me down just for your coat?”
Andrea smirked, her expression dripping with mockery.
She cleared her throat, voice dropping just enough to sound secretive. “You saw it yourself yesterday–he’s never really stopped caring about me. Ian told me straight up, he walked away from you, all for me.”
Andrea added, “I know you’re jealous, and it eats at you, but you need to face the facts.”
Chloe nodded, her voice cool. “It’s not just that he’s into you–he’s totally whipped. Honestly, he’s your simp.”
Andrea smirked. “Tomorrow’s my birthday, and Ian promised me a gift I’ll remember for the rest of my life. So I guess I’m skipping rehab.”
When Chloe kept quiet, Andrea just poked at her with a sly grin. “Dr. Irvine, you’ve known lan for ages… So what kind of fancy present do you think he’ll give me?”
Chloe let out a cold laugh. “Andrea, let me give you a little warning.”
Andrea arched an eyebrow. “If you’re just jealous, don’t bother–I already get it.”

Andrea flashed a smug smile. “Come on, think big–what if lan actually pops the question and asks me to marry him?”
Laura squeezed Andrea’s hand, her eyes practically glowing. “Once our girl lands that Hamilton title, your brother, sister–in–law, and I are gonna ride your coattails–getting to live in a mansion with maids, buy anything we want, finally living the high life!”

sent overseas for school, help them hook up with billionaire daughters, and make them real moneybags.”
“Mom, bro, sis, just wait till I bring home the jackpot,” Andrea said, brimming with pride.
With cash in hand, Andrea strutted out of her brother and sister–in–law’s place, her chin lifted with smug satisfaction.
At eight that night, Andrea blew the entire thirty grand on an all–new wardrobe–top to bottom–and took extra care to glam herself up like she was about to hit the red carpet.
With Ian’s address in hand, she strutted confidently over to the second floor of the Royal Court Club, already picturing herself as the guest of honor.
Andrea pushed open the door to the private room, surprised to find Ian sitting alone inside–there wasn’t even a cake or any sign of a celebration. Unable to hold back her disappointment, she asked, “Ian, weren’t you supposed to throw me a birthday party? Why did you choose this place?”
But then Andrea reassured herself, ‘Ian must be planning something special for me–he probably set it up like this to give me a surprise tonight.’
Ian set his glass down, face unreadable. “The private rooms here are soundproof. Perfect for anything we want to do.”
Andrea’s cheeks went bright red at his words.
‘He just got divorced and he’s already dying to get his hands on me?‘ Andrea thought, a little thrown.
‘Since he’s making it so obvious, I’ll give him everything he’s hoping for tonight,‘ she told herself, a sly grin spreading across her face.
Andrea slid in right beside Ian, her tone coy and playful with a trace of grievance, trying to get him to notice
her.
She pouted, “You’ve been totally ignoring me these days, and not even a birthday cake tonight! If you didn’t get me a gift, then hands off–you’re not getting anything from me tonight.”
Ian shot Andrea a sidelong glance, his brow furrowing.
He stood up abruptly, sidestepping Andrea’s eager hands. “Do you really think I’d let this day slip by without planning something special for you? I’ve been looking forward to it for ages.”
Andrea was practically buzzing with excitement.
She made a show of slipping off her coat, flaunting her doctor–made assets like she was on stage.
She teased, “lan, I’ve got something for you tonight too.”
Ian kept a straight face as he watched Andrea saunter toward him, peeling off her clothes piece by piece. Without any hurry, he placed a voice recorder on the coffee table.
