Chloe stared at Andrea with icy indifference as Andrea raved like she’d completely lost her mind, and there was hardly a flicker of emotion on Chloe’s face.

She couldn’t even be bothered to say a single word to Andrea.

Andrea had ended up like this because she was just too greedy.

It was all because she always wanted more.

If she had just taken that 60 million and stopped there, things wouldn’t have turned out so badly.

Or if she had simply accepted the 30 million from the Hayes family and known when to quit.

Or even if she had agreed to Ian’s generous payout, taken his card, and walked away for good.

She never would have ended up in such a sorry state.

Mia glared at Andrea, her anger barely contained, and retorted, “Seriously, Andrea, have you been binge- reading those romance stories where the billionaire only loves some poor Cinderella? Where on earth did you get the delusion that if my brother ever divorced Chloe, he’d just turn around and marry you?”

Andrea glared at Mia, her eyes blazing and voice trembling with spite as she barked, “Why are you acting all high and mighty, Mia? If you hadn’t been born with a silver spoon in your mouth, you’d probably be worse off than me–so wipe that smug look off your face!”

Miranda held Mia back as she started to get angry.

Miranda said, “Andrea, you took 60 million from our old man, and when he found out you just wouldn’t quit. You tried playing the sympathy card, wanting to run back here and chase after Ian, and that’s what ended up with you marrying someone overseas. From the start, our old man just wanted you far away from the Hamilton family. Everything that happened was because you couldn’t stop scheming to marry rich. This whole mess is your own doing–don’t try to blame anyone else.”

Seeing what was happening, Laura Terry, Andrea’s mother, pointed at Andrea, her expression turning harsh. “We had no clue what she was up to outside. She’s the one who’s brought all this trouble on the family. Do whatever you want to her, but leave my son and grandson out of it!”

Andrea’s brother and sister–in–law immediately joined in, hurriedly backing her

  1. up.

Andrea looked at her mom, her brother, and his wife, completely stunned and unable to believe what she was seeing.

Her eyes brimmed with tears, and she practically snarled through gritted teeth, “Mom, bro, sis–in–law–for you, for this family, I’ve sacrificed so much! And now, after all I’ve done, you guys are just gonna act like 1 never mattered to you at all?”

Laura, her son, and his wife just turned away, refusing to look at Andrea any longer. Their guilty faces said it all–they wanted nothing more to do with her now.

Just then, police sirens started blaring outside.

Everyone began whispering and gossiping, the room buzzing with rumors about what might be happening.

Andrea, looking completely wrecked, rushed over to lan, only to get stopped cold by two bodyguards.

She was totally losing control now, her eyes flashing with bitter defiance.

She laughed and cried at the same time, crazed and unstable as she looked wildly around at everyone, and finally, her gaze zeroed in on Jan.

Andrea shrieked, her voice crazed and desperate, “lan, don’t kid yourself–just because you’re chucking me in jail doesn’t mean you get a fresh start with your precious Chloe!”

She jabbed a trembling finger at lan, her eyes burning with fury. “You bent over backwards to hide Clint’s real identity–stuck by me and my son’s side in the hospital for a month, just so Chloe would never know. You even forged fake paternity papers for me! Every ounce of care you gave us came at Chloe’s expense. Even if I’m out of the picture, don’t think you two can just pick up where you left off!”

lan found himself drifting toward Chloe, unable to resist the pull–his body moved before his mind could catch up.

His eyes were slightly bloodshot as he faltered, trying to tug the corner of his lips into a smile, but in the end, not a single word escaped him.

Chloe spared lan a look, then turned to Arthur. “This is so dull. Let’s get out of here.”

Every single word Andrea spat out was an undeniable fact–there was no changing any of it now.

Even if lan personally took Andrea down, there was no way Chloe would ever get back together with him.

No one else had a say in what happened between her and Ian.

This was all on lan–every decision, every mistake, was his alone.

Andrea saw Chloe staying calm and totally unfazed, just getting ready to leave like none of this drama had ever touched her.

She was seething with jealousy, lost it completely, and just couldn’t stand the unfairness of it all.

Out of nowhere, she grabbed a fruit knife off the waiter’s cart and suddenly lunged at Chloe with wild eyes.

Even if she had to die, Andrea was hell–bent on taking Chloe down with her.

If she was doomed, then Chloe was going with her–no way that bitch was getting out of this untouched!

“Chloe!

The whole crowd cried out at once.

Jan and Arthur didn’t hesitate–they both shot out their legs, booting Andrea so hard she sailed across the

room.

Thankfully, she woke up before it was too late and carved out her own place in the world through sheer hard work.

Ian watched in stunned silence as Chloe walked away, his eyes filled with heartache. He didn’t try to stop her; in that moment, all he could do was stand there and let her go.

Overseas, she played by her own rules–nothing held her back, so she always got what she wanted.

But once she came back and ran into lan again, his indifference rattled her, made her fearful and hesitant.

She kept hesitating and holding back, never bold enough to just go for it, and that’s how she managed to lose everything.

If she had simply taken Ian’s ridiculous payout and walked away for good, she wouldn’t have ended up in such a pathetic mess.

Seeing her mother and brother and sister–in–law walk away without a second look, just leaving her behind, Andrea felt a wave of grief, anger, and panic crash over her–her heart clenched so hard she almost couldn’t breathe, and for a moment, all she could think was, ‘How can they abandon me like this?‘

When she was rolling in cash, she was their beloved daughter, their little sister, their treasured aunt–they treated her like she was royalty.

But the minute she was flat broke, she meant nothing to them anymore–her own family ditched her without a second glance.

Andrea finally snapped–she was out of her mind, all reason gone.

She screamed at the top of her lungs, kicking and thrashing like a wild animal. “I hate you! I hate all of you!”

As Andrea, still completely unhinged, was hauled off by the police, the Hamilton family’s bodyguards quickly moved in to clear everyone else out of the hall.

Ian spotted Miranda, exhaustion etched in every line of his face. He said, “Mom, I’m sorry. I just couldn’t bear to let him die without anyone ever knowing the real truth.”

Miranda sighed. “Look, about Chris Hunter, you did what you had to do–Andrea broke the law, so she had it coming. But you shouldn’t have kept me in the dark about all this….and Chloe absolutely deserved to know.”

Ian couldn’t help but drop his gaze, unable to meet Miranda’s eyes.

He’d tried to be honest with Chloe about everything, but she was totally indifferent–never cared or paid any attention at all.

Miranda said, “Andrea has already paid for what she did, and you and Chloe are divorced now. It’s over–just let the past be the past.”

Jan lowered his gaze, hiding the flood of emotion in his eyes.

Over? Just like that?‘ he thought, unwilling to accept it.
