Patrick ventured a bold guess. “Julian’s your uncle, right? Don’t tell me you’ve planted a spy in the Rowe Estate?”

Ian replied with a calm, steady voice, “This is Kingsford. If I want to know something, nothing gets past me

here.”

Patrick pulled a face, his tone full of disdain. “So what if you can pull strings everywhere? Even after you got stabbed for Chloe, she didn’t even bother with you.”

lan’s eyes fixed emptily on the icy hospital room ceiling.

He kept telling himself: ‘What’s going on between me and Chloe is just a rough patch. It’s not forever.

‘We’ll make it through this. We’ll find our way back.‘ Ian remained convinced.

Patrick stared at Ian, poking at his bruised ego. “Quit dreaming. Chloe holds a grudge like nobody else–she could toss you into the flames at the crematorium twice and still not feel a shred of pity.”

Ian didn’t want to hear Patrick’s trash talk any longer, so he shut his eyes, tuning him out completely.

‘Whether Chloe threw me to the killer, or abandoned me at the last minute to save Julian, she was just doing it to get under my skin,’ Ian thought.

Chloe’s love for me is etched into her bones–it’s part of who she is.

‘She can’t just flip a switch and stop loving me like that.‘

If I hold on, stay patient, and keep fighting for her, I know she’ll come back to me.‘

Just as the room fell into a tense silence, Mia rushed in, banging on the door. “Patrick, this is bad! Grandpa

and Dad just went to the Irvine estate!”

Patrick and Jan exchanged stunned glances, and Tan sprang upright from the hospital bed.

The sudden move tugged at his stitches–pain shot through him, making his head spin so badly he almost keeled over.

Meanwhile, at the Irvine estate–Chloe hurried home from the hospital, only to walk into a scene: Edward and Shane had already arrived, posted up with a whole squad of bodyguards.

As Chloe stepped through the front gate, she found the place crawling with Hamilton bodyguards as far as the eye could see,

Edward was sitting in the main seat of the Irvine family’s living room, while Shane stood across from Chloe’s

It was like the Hamiltons had already taken over the place.

Frank and Jill, clearly worried, quickly pulled Chloe close to them.

Chloe’s eyes locked onto the shattered vase in the living room, her expression freezing over. “Edward, Shane, what’s this? Planning a daylight takeover of our home now?”

Shane pointed straight at Chloe, his voice loaded with warning. “Miss Irvine, you and my son are done. So do yourself a favor and back off–don’t meddle in his life, and don’t even think about butting in on his engagement to the Goodwin heiress!

Chloe fired back, her tone cold and cutting. “Shane, your son couldn’t help sticking his nose in to play the hero. For Miranda and Mia’s sake, I rushed him to the hospital, covered his medical expenses, hired a private nurse, and I’m even willing to pay up for compensation. What more do you guys want?”

Shane snorted with mocking laughter. “My son is Hamilton Group’s heir, and he got hurt because of you. With your broke–down house and empty pockets, what could you possibly cough up as compensation?”

Chloe stood her ground. “I can’t afford it, but Julian can. Your son got hurt at the Rowe Estate–if you’re hellbent on wringing out compensation, Julian’s ready to handle every cent.”

Edward, who’d kept quiet all this time, finally spoke up with authority. “We’re here to deal with you and Ian- no one else is involved.”

Chloe stepped up to Edward, voice firm and unwavering. “I’ve made myself perfectly clear–Ian and I are divorced. There’s nothing between us and nothing for you to fix. You need to leave. Right now.”

Edward leaned on his cane, Thomas steadying him as he slowly got to his feet.

He swept his

gaze over the three Irvines, his voice leaving no room for argument. “I want the Irvine family out of Kingsford.”

Chloe locked eyes with Edward, completely stunned–she couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

She fired back, “Even if the Hamiltons think they own all of Kingsford, as long as I say no? There’s no way you’re chasing me outta here.”

Shane gestured sharply, and a flood of bodyguards came rushing in.

Edward fixed his gaze on the Irvines, his voice icy and unyielding. “I’m not giving you a choice.”

Jill threw herself protectively in front of Chloe, her voice fierce as she shouted, “I already called the police the

Carl slammed his foot into the back of Shane’s knee. “Arthur, if we can’t beat the son, we’ll go after his dad! Take him out–let’s end this!”

Because of her, Arthur and the Hamiltons officially had bad blood now.

Arthur was so mad, he totally ignored Chloe and blew right past her.

“I’ve gotta teach this old fossil a lesson!” Arthur snapped.

He loosened his grip just long enough to smack Shane square on the head.

Shane was so mad he almost blacked out from rage.

After hanging up, Edward snapped at his bodyguards, “Tie up those two bastards–I don’t care if they’re dead or alive!”

Chloe’s face went pale with shock the second Edward gave the order.

Just as the Hamilton bodyguards were about to swarm in and cause trouble, Patrick and Mia showed up with Ian right behind them–it was a last–second rescue.

Patrick immediately turned to Arthur, urging, “Let him go!” making sure Arthur released Shane without a fuss.

Mia’s heart clenched watching her dad get manhandled, but she held it together, biting back her panic for the

moment.

Ian had taken two stab wounds and lost a ton of blood–his face was sickly pale and haggard, barely managing to stand with Patrick holding him up. The pain was so intense that he couldn’t even straighten his back.

Still, gritting his teeth, he forced himself to shuffle over to Chloe.

He looked at his grandpa and dad, pushing through the pain. “Grandpa, Dad–why are you here at the Irvine estate?”

Chloe cut in, her voice sharp. “Your grandpa and dad just barged in here and are trying to kick my family out of Kingsford–all because they think I’m ruining your life and getting in the way of your engagement!”

Ian’s expression turned stone cold.

Shane, absolutely fuming, jabbed a finger at Ian and shouted, “Ian, you saw it yourself! This woman actually egged someone on to rough me up–show her what happens when someone crosses our family. Lay down the law now!”
